If he was serious about wanting to develop youngsters then he should tell his bosses to stop demanding huge fees for sending players out on loan. He's actually right, but the solution is obviously wrong. No point him telling his bosses what to do - that's not going to happen. The solution is easy, but won't happen, as it doesn't keep the billions rolling in. The FA and UEFA simply need to insist that in all competitions, a certain percentage of the match day squad (say 50%?) must be British. That way, clubs will be forced to develop their youngsters, loan them out to get more experience and then return them to battle for a place. And if the top clubs don't like it, then they are more than welcome to sod off and form their own little league abroad somewhere. As I say, won't happen though, as in the short term, clubs will do poorly in the Champions League and consequently, the TV deals for the CL & PL will drop in value, as fewer people will watch if there are fewer 'superstars'. As always, all about money. :sad:

I don't think he is right atall. Yes the big teams like Barcelona and real Madrid's b teams have alot more depth than ours and play infront of bigger crowds but how many of them actually make it at a decent level. If real madrids academy is so successful why do they need to pick up players from other clubs. Bale was developed here, ronaldo developed here and in portugal, rumoured to be looking at dele alli, they took the likes of Beckham and Owen etc. Barcelona I will give abit more credit too who's teams always seem to consist more of home grown talent. I think where Spain have excelled over us is their coaching and facilities, I don't think their national success is down to their b teams playing infront of big crowds and playing against other league teams. While we were teaching players to work hard and run fast and such the Spanish kids were taught to take care of the ball and become technically better players.
I must admit I'm not a big follower of Spanish football but I think pep is just looking for excuses and being found out abit in a league that has more than 2 teams to compete for honours.

What a load of sh*t. Fraudiola is such a great nickname. He had the 2 best sides in the world with no competition and now hes been found out when he does.

He took a treble winning Bayern team and then couldnt get them to a champions league final with the best team in Europe.

I have really enjoyed him ****ing up at city but now I will enjoy it even more. Hes even got me supporting Spurs later and I cant stand Spurs fans!!

Yes there used to be one or two famous ones but it seems most of them are at it nowadays.

Even if it were legally possible (and it's not, at least while we're in the EU), I'm not at all sure this would be a good idea.

Russia introduced foreign quotas a little while back, in order to protect their homegrown players with the 2018 World Cup in mind. It has been a disaster, with Russian football in general, and the NT in particular, worse than they've been for years.

Essentially this is because Russian players are protected from competition, with many knowing that they'll likely get picked come-what-may. As a result, many of their "star" players take the piss - see eg this story of two Russian players on their way back after Euro2016, where their NT had just stank the place out:
