Peter Crouch
........scores the goal to secure Champions League footie.........well done Lanky...........

I hope he goes to the euros.
i've always been a big fan (he is my little brother after all) but his problem at the top level is that refs just assume he's fouling whenever he competes for a high ball, so anything long almost automatically loses possession for us.
Not the only one in that Stoke team, either; Premier League money for a National League performance..............stealing a living now............

https://www.thefamouspeople.com/profiles/peter-crouch-11690.phpI've just noticed that after Stoke beat Brentford last week Crouch said: "I’d like the Bees to go up but Stoke City safe... Thank god!"
This caused me to check something and according to Wiki, he was on the books of Brentford as a youth (1991-93), before going to QPR (1994-95) and then Spurs (1995-98), with a couple of adult years at Spurs before a move to QPR in 2000, which kick-started his senior career:

The other thing from Wiki is that apparently he was born in Macclesfield - I always thought he was a West London boy, born and bred.

Maybe so, but not to me.“On the books” lol
It’s been known for years he was at Brentford!
As Banana notes, there isn't much about Crouch generally, never mind his time at Brentford, on this thread (or the other 3 Crouch threads? Haven't checked those). He was part of the junior set up from 10/12 years old. There was somewhere, maybe on here? A picture of his junior members card. Maybe @rebus showed it once upon a time?
Crouch has been mentioned all over the GPG, but not much in his own thread it would seem.
Yes, he lived in Pitshanger all his formative life and attended North Ealing Primary and Drayton Manor High Schools. And, as said above, Ealing gets a few mentions from him in his works - especially the Samrat Indian Restaurant in Pitshanger Lane.
His first cup final was, I believe, held at Griffin Park.
