Whilst I'm not in the camp that is for sacking the management at the moment I'm curious as to peoples views on Taylor coming in if it did happen? Didn't do a lot with Palace but Ive often thought quite highly of him and he did the business at Hull

Peter Taylor

lol And why would he want to join us?

Peter Taylor

We don't have a job for him at present but, even if we did, he wouldn't be my first choice as he hasn't been too successful at club level in recent years. He did have some success at Hull, but if I remember rightly there was a lot of cash going into the club at the time, so it was on a par with Noades being seen as a good manager for us

Taylor has been very fortunate in his career up till now but I have always dismissed him as a top flight manager - he inherited teams and did a very good job of eventually ballsing things up at each club

he spent a fortune in wages etc at hull

.......................another over-rated manager.............not impressed by him..............

Ask any Leicester fan or Southend fan what they think of him. He dis a decent enough job at Hull, but again with money and he did ok job at England U21 level. He's fortunate to have been given as many opportunities as he has had imho and as he's not a very good manager. :sorted:

I agree - didn't he also have an unsuccessful stint at Watford?

we cannot keep on sacking managers. it is only early october! get off their backs!!!!!

for the cost of paying off tb and as (they have two years contracts remember....) we must try to find some money for a couple of more experienced and better (and physically larger) players for the spine of the side.

ps the man u fans cried for sir alex's head after six months!

pps there were many posts for ma to be fired too!!!

Peter Taylor

Really?!! Show me them please. Can only be from imbeciles.....

I cannot see the point in sacking anyone just yet, unless we have someone lined up who is better. Because all I could see happening is that Marshall takes a caretaker role and might start ok, get given the job and the sorry saga continues aka Fitz last season.

However just because someone has a 2 year contract, doesn't mean they have to be paid up for the full remaining period. There may well be a shorter notice period within the contract.

Welcome to the Board. Please report to Mr Dyke on your first day, if he's turned up, otherwise help yourself to G&Ts in the lounge :sorted:

Butcher is a waste of space. His post match annalysis is a joke. I had the misfortune to be at Hereford & this "Big Budget Club" looked miles better than us all over the park. The only credit to the Brentford club, were the terrific away fans who sang all through the match. These players don't deserve the fans at present. The way we conseeded the 2 goals was an absolute disgrace.Thorpe the thug did his best to get sent off again & this time he tangled with with a Bees player! The team & club is a joke. Stick with Butcher as blunstonebabe suggests & reep the "benefits" - in the relegation zone by xmas!! Martin Allen may have left the Club in a manner not befitting his time here, but he's available & 5 times the manager this pleb will ever be.

But what about Peter Taylor, which of course what this thread is supposed to be about.

He has an impressive U21 pedigree, but we have a manager at present.."going after" him would be suicidal...finance wise...

Peter Taylor

He doesn't really scream motivation. If only we had managed to get Ince before MK, he could motivate a vegetarian in a slaughter house.

Peter Taylor

We don't and I don't think we should sack the management at present as I said in the first post.

I was simply curious as to peoples views on Taylor is all seeing as many seem to be saying they do want new management so I was interested to see who they'd like.

What does it matter which managers people who post on GPG might like? The fans have no say in new managerial appointments but can express their disgust at the sh*te served up by Butcher and Scott. If we lose to Rotherham they should resign in embarassment. Then we wait for our incompetent board to f*ck up again. And so it goes.

What does anything we post on here matter? Its a forum for opinions and such which is what this topic is for. Opinions and thoughts simply

Peter Taylor - probably a good coach (see U21 success) but given his managerial track record must be missing something (Respect, motivational abilities?)

Taylor Trivia

Before entering into football management, Taylor was an insurance salesman in Chingford.

Taylor was born on the same day in history as JRRRR Tolkein and Victoria Principal (Jan 3rd)

Think we missed the boat when Danny Williams left Bristol sh*tty....plenty of lower league knowledge.....

Peter Taylor

I'd rather Peter Taylor as a left winger.

i think you mean Danny Wilson, who got the sack at MK DOns then moved to Hartlepool........................ he would've been my choice when MA left but then again we did get Leroy.......................

Peter Taylor

We should have a vacancy! Even Edmundo will agree come xmas time that we should have got rid of TB now. He is utter failure. Lets not wait until relegation looms

Peter Taylor done a good job at ... Dartford :D This was before they lost their ground, sounds like he might have the right credentials for the Bees
