Did the club want him to play for it either?
I expect him to sign for Aldershot very shortly.;)

Peter's Transfer Request

He seems to do ok in the reserves but has never been given a run of starts in the first team.

Wether he has a bad attitude or not, he should be nurtured a bit more.

As it is, he has been frozen out.

I'm not suprised, it is a waste of good tallent for both parties.

Peter's Transfer Request

I'm not sure it's Peters who doesn't want to play for the club, more likely Wally doesn't want him to play for the club. Seems like Wally has got what he wanted. I would normally say the manager has made a judgement of the player and i back him, but in this case i can't agree. I don't think the lad has been given a fair run in the side, but it's all about opinions.

Peter's Transfer Request

Can't really say Peters has impressed me much, but I thought i'd checek to see if there were any stats on him on the official site, guess what?

He's not listed on the first team squad!

Please post all conspiricy theories below....

He was taken out when he went on loan to Aldershot and just not put back in. No conspiracy.

But even if he was on loan, he was still a Brentford player who could be recalled if necessary (but don't hold your breath).

I think Peters will go down as one of the best tallents we never saw at GP.

Totally agree................................i think it is a bloody disgrace considering the amount of non talented sh*te that has been at the club & currently at the club....that he has been ignored , i do not care if he is a bit of a lad........should of played a bigger part.

Sorry. I think Rapley was better. And those who know what I thought of Rapley will know that that's a fairly damning indictment.

I'll remember his goal against the pooperscoopers as a high - but what else did he do to justify the claims for his talents?

To me he looks as he has natural ability , where as past players

(ie Trolley) were just plain crap !

Peter's Transfer Request

If he's so good why is he going to Aldershot? Shouldn't there be half a dozen league clubs queueing for his signature?

I don't think we'll miss him.

Peter's Transfer Request

Hes done a whole season sitting on the bench while we had to endure the Trolly.

Hes had very little first team experience so who will take him?

Perhaps he will join Sir Steve Coppell at Reading on free.

A well timed transfer request or just coincidence?

Peter's Transfer Request

I can't see Steve C wanting him to be honest.
IMO Peters is certainly not a first division player. There are alot of better players that Steve C will go for first

Peter's Transfer Request

He may be a 6yd box poacher, but with his height and the style of his game he dosn`t fit in with us fighting for our lives in Div 2.

I think we have some good younp pro`s at GP, who can replace him no problem.

But having said that I only saw a few games of him - but it works both ways how can the fans rate him so highly after a few games.

IMO opinion he was only rated so higlhy because there was no alternative. Now we have Wright, May, Rougier and Olugbodi which means it is viewed that he is not needed.
The problem is though that these players are only on loan and short term deals, which means we need to tie some of them up until the end of the season.

Peter's Transfer Request

Linaker was a 6 yard poacher(amongst other things) and he didn't do too bad.

None of us will ever agree on who is/was good or bad.

Personnaly, I think Peters should have been at least half the chances that the Trolly was given.

There are those that think Mac walked on water, how the hell they thought he was good is beyond me.

The trouble at Brentford is Wally does not have a creative midfield. Hutch should be left out, Rouigier should drop back and Peters should partner Wright up front.

May has yet to impress me.

Peter's Transfer Request

JBN - In a struggling team you need eleven team fighters. If we don`t create chances for Peters, he contributes nothing team wise.

I am geting worried by May though - agree with you there.

I think we need a quck fast big fellow up front like Lloyd. Any ideas???

"I think we need a quck fast big fellow up front like Lloyd. Any ideas???"

Mark McCammon, perhaps?

Peter's Transfer Request

McCammon left Brentford to go to a club in a higher division.
Peter will leave Brentford to go to a club in a lower division (I think)

Enough said

Peter's Transfer Request

Unfortunatly Luton Bee, I have to agree with you.

It should be other way around though. How the hell Mac managed to go up a league, I will never understand. I believe Peters has a lot more ability then Mac.

There are plenty of players with more ability and he'd probably be the first to concede that but a lot of them don't have the desire.

Peter's Transfer Request

Just read the official site article, apparently Peters made 15 appearances for the Bees, from what I recal he only two starts. Those 15 appearances probably add up to three full games.

His injuries were due to splinters in arse from sitting on the bench too much, while having to endure the Trolly being a first choice striker.

Peter's Transfer Request

I think he will prob step down a division or 2 now but he will come back. I wish him all the best I think we have treated him quite badly considering all the other rubbish we keep wheeling out week in week out IMHO he was a lot better than 2 of the strikers we have to put up with now

Good luck Mark and when you come back and score think you have perfect right to  at wally.

I think there were question marks over his attitude. Shame that such a promising talent might be wasted because of it.

I just hope his decision dosen't cost him his professional career.

Who knows

Steve C would have had him out long before now.

Peter's Transfer Request

Peters was never given a proper chance to show what he could. So he had an attitude, so has Wally. I posted previously when we signed him that people around here in Southampton were surprised that he came to us because he had a good scoring record in Saints reserves and was expected to at least settle in the first division. This will come back to haunt us long after Wally has gone at the end of the season. He'll turn up at Griffin Park and score against us for sure.

Peter's Transfer Request

Trouble is everybody thought he was our savior .
Unfortunatey he wasnt .
On this occasion I think Wally was right not to play him.

Peter's Transfer Request

Nick Logan has it spot on (as usual). Peters may have been blessed with more natural talent than McCammon, but there is no doubt in my mind which of them deserves to succeed. The one who gave everything he had for the cause.

The idea that he'd have done better under Coppell is laughable. Coppell never used him, even when he was struggling to find eleven fit men near the end of the season.

At the recent fan's forum,Wally said that he had no problem with Marks attitude.Best that we stick with Ben May then.

And May's a prodigious talent with a remarkable goalscoring record. To my memory, he's only had one shot and a couple of tame headers at goal in the various games he's played for us. He may hold up the ball quite well, but he's not going to be top scorer at any club from what I've seen of him.

IF the wally had given Peters the same number of games as May, I'd be astonished if he didn't score more goals (even I could probably beat it!).

I've never been totally convinced by Peters, but then again, he's not really been given a run in the team. He played well and scored against QPHa last season, and he scored a good goal against Staines in the summer friendly. Other than that, he's barely been on view. Obviously not a firm favourite of the wally, which probably means he will go on to do very well elsewhere.

Peter's Transfer Request

I was surprised that Peters wasn't given a chance at the start of the season. However I'm not sure his efforts as a sub and in the reserves have deserved a chance since.

He might have talent but it doesn't look to me that he wants it enough.

Peter's Transfer Request

His 'attitude' appears well documented as does Wallys decissions not to play him.

When the preseason friendlys came around, who scored regularly?

Come the first game of the season who sits on the bench?

You can argue thats its his attitude as long as you like, but he scored four goals in the pre season and can't get a start. WHY?

Someone doesn't like him, it is as simple as that.

I do not see Peters as a saviour of BFC, I never have done, he has also never had the chance.

Then what happens when they go back to the club's that have loaned them to us??

Peter's Transfer Request

If Peters had been given a prpoer chance, like 5 consecutive starts and then failed judgement could be passed, but with only a couple of appearences it seems unfair to judge him too harshly, he did score 1 good goal which is more than Murray Jones, Steve Jones and Matthew Metclaf put togtehr
