Yep, bit surprising, I thought it would gather pace yesterday but it's just steadily increased. It will hit the 100,000 mark but it would have been nice to get a huge response and turn the heat up on the minister.

Virtually everyone involved in football should be supporting Safe Standing.

• Those that want to stand for obvious reasons
• Those that don't want to stand - so that they don't have people standing in front of them
• Everyone else because it contributes to overall safety
  

Hope this does contribute to the overall pressure and it is not just dismissed yet again - primarily because of the uninformed few being pressurised by a vocal and powerful minority that would prefer us to all sit for their own selfish reasons.

The overall lack of inertia with this petition is probably down to the perception that petitions do not work and that the government will simply fob this one off with a statement restating their current position.

No, hotmail - same account has not received emails from other companies for no reason too, not in blocked/spam/anything, so i just dont do them! (I could use another account, but i dont want to get emailed in future)

Theres been zero media coverage nor celeb endorsements. I showed bees mates the petition yday and they were unaware of it.

Personally I'm not that bothered for myself but it really matters to many and is not causing me issues so good luck and maybe there really is something starting to gather pace.

If the authorities actually enforced sitting down in seating areas (unlikely and maybe impossible granted) then a lot more people might suddenly be interested.

I also doubt the vast majority or supporters who would like safe standing know about the petition.

They manage it at Theme Parks so that's the answer. Restraints that lower over your shoulders before kick-off and release you at HT and FT. Game not to commence until everyone is locked down.

Seriously I cannot honestly believe that anyone in football thinks safe standing is not good for the game - not sure I have heard a single valid argument against, other than the one made on the basis of 'security' - or the 'sit down, shut up and watch the game with no passion' advocates.
