Considering I had nothing else to do at work this morning I thought I’d have a lot at the view from the prawn sandwich seats.

One thing I noticed about the pictures (May have been mentioned before) is the pitch. The gap between the pitch and the stands behind the goals especially is mahooosive. I know we need to accommodate for the paddy’s egg ball club and I know we will never be as close as GP (although spurs new stadium is very close the the pitch and goals) but surely the gap isn’t that that big considering there was such emphasis from the fans to be close? Are these pictures accurate?

I thought someone mentioned it was in the rules from some football organisation who know sweet fa. The minimum depth from try line to the out of bounds is 6 meters.Looking at the picture why not make the goal line the try line and move the goal back 6 meters.

I don't think the FA/FL can insist on a full size UEFA pitch (105x68m) at LR as countless other clubs have larger (longer) playing areas but reduce the pitch length to 100m. I'm guessing Wigan and Hull do this to make the whole pitch markings thing easier to do. If we play on a 105m pitch the RU goal-lines will be 2.5m in and may roughen up the six yard box (srummaging/rucks and mauls). The two clubs mentioned above don't have this problem as RL has almost done away with this practice altogether. I thinks clubs in the EPL have to increase their pitch size now if they have the space (S'ton, Stoke, Brighton, H'field), others that have restricted playing surfaces are exempt from this.

Ashton Gate widens their pitch by 2m for RU, don't know if this will be the case for LR.

As I iterated in my initial posting....the caveat being that we would have to be in the PL for it to be enforceable. FA Cup matches played by EFL clubs are exempt. Fulham put three/four rows of extra seating at pitch side to increase their capacity by 2500, leaving them with a tiny pitch at 110x70yds, the smallest in the PL.

Can't remember when Wigan were last in the PL, but it must've been before the new rules as they kept their RL pitch length (100m).
