Plan B

We have several threads on relegation and life in L2, life in the Conference/Rymans/Isthmian/Tesco Value League, but have we actually got a Plan B

Plan A, if it exists, is clearly failing. Communication is poor, our finances are shot to pieces, we are not a fans run club, the fans are being pushed out and we are shagging it up on the pitch.

So, assuming we have a Plan A and Plan A is not working, what is Plan B?

Plan B

We get bought by a Russian billionaire:fishing:

Plan B

I get fit, and good, and Fitz spots me playing on a Sunday morning and signs me and I score goals in every game we have left to keep us up and then get sold for £20M to the Los Angeles Galaxy whereupon I meet Jessica Alba and get married and convince Becks to dump his daft bird and get his arse back to blighty to help the Bees win League One next season.

Thats the official Plan A as sanctioned by Bees Utd, although none of them have actualy seen the document and it's all someone elses fault.

U REDS!

I suppose the only plan B is to sell (maybe not by choice) the ground and share with another football/rugby club. Not what we want, but there must be a real chance of this happening at some point in the future.

Plan B

Blimey, JBN, nobody answered this when I asked it on post 7 of: -

https://griffinpark.org/forums/showthread.php?t=49186

...the other day. Having said that, looking back I was being v. sarky and probably didn't do my argument justice.

So top post in starting this thread. What is the alternative to a spending plan Which has presently left the club bottom, with poor attendances and no saleable playing assets? :(

Plan B

Short of a sugar daddy the only viable proposition would seem to be clearing the debt by selling the ground. We'd then have to start over, probably by sharing a ground but also by playing within our budget as we'd have no assets left against which we could run up any new debts. Common sense may at last prevail, we'd be rid of Noades and his legacy but it might actually see us a division or two lower than where we are at the moment.

Plan B

Plan B must surely be to allow supporters to bring their own crisps to the ground without the risk of being labeled as a terrorist. As for any other thoughts on the matter, just picture tumbleweed blowing across GP.

Plan B

rofl WIth all due respect, you did plant it in the middle of a thread on Wolverhampton Wanderers :sorted:

I was thinking that myself. I did totally go off on one there.

Some of my crap plan B's include selling Griffin Park and using any spare cash to take Brentford into a not-for-profit property business, where all proceeds are reversed into the club until there is enough money for the stadium. I'm guessing that wont be popular but at least it isn't Noades suggesting it.

Either that or someone takes over. Regarding the Wolves - who would you rather put together a consortium? Souness? Or Doug White? :D

Plan B

Don`t forget if we sell GP it will save us £275k per annum in interest charges. But we would still lose £500k a year. How do we fund that with no ground and no off the pitch income.

I am afraid to say that Plan B is BUs continued work on Lionel Road. The BFC Board have been unable to identify a long term future for BFC and this has been the case for many years.

what are you on about JBT and what are your suggestions to your ridiculous question???

the plan is to win as many football matches as possible and survive financially whatever division we're in!!!

I would have thought winning matches would be part of any plan, including Plan A, which is failing.

I would have thought financial survival would be part of plan A, which is failing.

We had a plan for this season, break even was part of it, but despite transfer income and another good cup run, we finish the financial year with a further £500,000 loss. So no break even.

So we're already on Plan B then?

Plan B

Would we not get money for Kuffour, O'Connor and Frampton then?

We would probably be lucky to get 50 grand for the three of them. Don't think there is much silverware left to sell

Sorry JBN the 500K loss and the cup run was last season along with transfer income from DJ and Smith. This season we have had a sh*t season so far, no cup run and we have £700K transfer fees from last summer Turner, Sodje, Tabb etc(minus payments to Noades and BU of about £175K if they collect) to go on to this seasons' accounts at the end of the year.
Nobody can say where we will be in June and the forecast for the season wont be out until mid July probably and then like this season audited accounts in Dec 07.

I disagree.
Kuffour on his own maybe because he is (allegedly) out of contract in June so he goes now for a fee or we get nothing in June IF he leaves us.
The other two have got nice new contracts and either 1.5 or 2.5 years to run depending on who you believe. In those contracts they should have asked for an acceptable transfer fee clause and we should have obliged at around £150K for each of them, (poss more for KOC) given the length of their contracts, their experience at this level over the last two seasons, relative consistency, age, injury history.
They both signed in September days after the Bradford game that saw our last home win before the bad run and with the Bees in the top 6.
If they had thought that form might continue they would not have been to upset with those valuations. If anyone comes in for either we will see if those clauses exist or not of course because I am purely speculating :fishing: here.

Plan B

Somone(me) goes in and does some motivatioal speeches.
1.Explain how there ARE three worse sides in this division and back it up with mathamatical evidence charts and sadistic violence.(Joe Pescie will help with this.)
2.Explain how at G/P failure is NO longer an option and in a JAMES BOND baddie sort of way show how failure will be delt with.(Charlie Richardson to help with this and i thank him in advance for the loan of the bath and electrical equipment).
This is my plan B.

Surely you need 4 worse sides though. ;)

We were told that we break even.

I'm not holding my breath on that one.

Plan B

According to the 'BFC: Battle for Survival' thread, it's more like £1,100,000 loss than breaking even for this year, unfortunately.
