We've done really well thus far. You couldn't get a team with more determination or spirit but wouldn't it be great if in the last quarter of the season one of our forwards - be it Peters, Rhodesy, Lloyd, Isiah or even Marcus took a step up in terms of regular goalscoring to replace DJ. Think that's what will make the differnece between runners-up and play-offs. Respect to Colchester. They beat us 2-0 at GP and appear to have given Chelski (at least in the first half) a better game than we did Charlton. I think they'll win the title. Who disagrees? Who cares anyway as long as we get automatic promotion. Who's the likeliest candidate for a Premiership management post between MA, Phil Parkinson and Steve Tilson, do we think?

Agree - couldn't have put it better...

The second half and the Bees support yesterday left me feeling pretty good about the coming few months.

I voted for Champions but firmly believe we will promoted through whatever route. The only team I fear is Colchester and I don't believe that we'll meet them in the play-offs (if that's where we end up.) If it is the play-offs, I think we are well capable of beating any team that we come up against.

Colchester really suprised me today. They were very very good. We will get automatic promotion. We are consistently the best team in L1, our points to games ratio proves this and our away record is the best in L1. However, if Colchester keep todays form, then they could pip us to the champions spot.

The rest are all much of a muchness IMHO

Colchester do look like the best side in the division, but they've had a slight dip in league form recently, and their next 3 games are barnsley(a), sarfend(h) and oldham(a). Plus they have two LDV ties against Swansea between those games, so a very busy schedule (like us).

Whereas our next 3 games are Vale(h), Donny(a) and Gills(a).

Easy..Parkinson, being talked up big time everywhere. MA's too much of an individual for many I fear ( for him not us!).

Interestingly whenever you hear a discussion on up and coming home grown managers MA is low down the list or not always even on it.

Parkinson, Tilson, Pardew, Moyes still, Preston guy etc etc are always mentioned.

We've had so much dissapointment that I'd take second place any day (apart from on the way back from Bournemouth when we'll be champions).

I would really fear the play-offs because 3rd place team has never won, and just look at Tranmere last season, they were better than hartlepool, sheff wed and us, yet still didn't go up.

Yes but 1 man makes a massive difeerence from getting a few points extra than not at all,
Nicky Forster was the same thing flying in the lge and then sell him 10 games before end of the season and we dont go up.
It is gonna happen and I will blame Dyke when it happens.

Between the middle of September and the end of October, we only won 2 games out of 8 matches, losing 4 and drawing 2 (8 points out of 24). We recovered well to our current position. Let's hope we don't have another bad run.

yeah, but not of his own making. i suppose not having a bad run, and not having any big crises, are signs of a good manager.... but it happens to everyone, and i do worry we're due one. i am doggedly REFUSING to get swept up in all this optimism - it is, after all, what destroyed saturday night for me (i honestly thought we were gonna win the cup :sad: )
