because their expectation level has been raised so high by all this progress and good play i'm sure.So why do people moan on other theards?

.........................football under floodlights...............................
There are an awful lot of positives this season, our defence which is one of the strongest in all leagues and perhaps most importantly the teams determination, as a unit, not to fail and for this the management deserve considerable praise.
There are players that will split the supporters views in half, Bean, Poole etc however the latter is top scorer and the former is an integral part of our defensive strategy without them both I think the picture would look far less rosy.
To build the team on a solid defence is of paramount importance and whilst we will shortly be losing Wilson I feel that Scott has his replacements in place and whilst initialy there will be a problem whilst they learn each others strengths and weaknesses I do not beleive that this will cause the "melt down" that has been suggested.
Midfield is still an area where further improvement is required, the continuing absence of Smith is a problem and even when he returns to full fitness it will take time for him to become "match fit", in the meantime Scott can do no more than permutate the existing players and hope that some combination will fire and therfore start to release Charlie so he can do what he does well, score goals.
There is still a lot to do here and we have seen in patches that this group of players can play delightful football. However we are in the top part of the table just behind the leaders having lost just 1 league game since the season started, we have a positive goal difference and a squad of players who can play in a variety of different positions. Compare this with the dross we have seen in the last couple of seasons and acknowledge the hard work and proffessionalism behind the scene and Brentford are a club heading in the right direction.
( PS for those who know me this flies in the face of my regular viewpoint of a glass half empty!!!)
