One possibility is Kit Symons, the C Palace centreback who took over as a stopgap before they appointed Dowie. He got them on a reasonable run (3 wins, 1 draw, 1 defeat or something like that) after a terrible set of results under the previous manager.

I see from the Palace fans' website that he's seen as unlikely to play much for them again. A pretty good player who I think is 31 and could be interested in a player manager's post...

As Paul Mariner was mentioned, interesting story: Paul is living in Suburban Boston and plays in an over-30s Sunday league team with Steve Nicol (former L'pool, now manager of Boston MLS team). I've had friends play against them and apparently it's quite an experience.

Add Glenn Cockerill to this list. Has done a top job on a small budget.

Remember all we can offer a new manager is a stepping stone to bigger thing. And will have to do it with no money! Therefore needs to be an up and coming person. ie Mr Cockerill

I would talk to Gerry though, lives in Bagshot has not really excelled in management (thats to goad you if you read this Gerry and think stuff it I'll show em)

what about steve coterill done great job at Cheltenham Town non league to 2nd division i dont no why people want steve perryman as manager as he didnt do anything in his last spell at club as he resigned because he couldnt motivate the players as i recall after he left, the team was a lot more succesful .

I thought he got us to the quater finals of the FA cup,and laid the foundations for the team that got promoted under Holder.I think that you'll also find that he left because lange wouldn't give him the money to sign Elkins from Fulscum.

It would be no suprise to me for RN to call ken bates and say there is a club up the road that you can use and abuse as a toy and make a few quid as well as manage them if you like me od mukka.
**** me wake me up I am having nightmares.

Big Terry Evans he loves the club and is a genuine nice guy and would come on the cheap and Jamie Bates as his number 2.

Horton or Perryman if we're looking for experience, but, an off the wall idea Tony Rougier as player manager - respected by his peers, will do most things Wally didn't and unlikely to stand on the touchline swearing.
