Post-Forest gig

Sound-proofing issues are now confirmed as sorted so hoping to put on one "big" post-match tribute gig on before the season ends.

Obviously time is short and - much as i`ve tried to sort one - i`ve yet to find an Oasis tribute which is a/ available and b/ affordable.

Have learned today that we could get a Stereophonics tribute band which is available on this date but would like to gauge people`s views. Personally i love them and this band comes with a good pedigree etc. Thoughts ASAP please  (Madness is another possible option but awaiting availability info)

**this would need to be a £10 a head event to be a viable fundraiser**

Its been one of my dreams to see red hot chilli peppers play at griffin park. I would donate a huge amount if they were to play :sorted:

I reckon you'd struggle to sell 100 tickets to a Stereophonics tribute band PJ, although I'd be delighted to be wrong.

The Beatles tribute band were good last time if I remember rightly and would appeal to all ages. I like the Stereophonics but am not sure I would pay to see a tribute band.

I agree. They don't have the same wide appeal as Madness or the Beatles or Oasis.

Tend to agree WEB, although there are claims that STEROTONICS are selling out around the country at the moment. Will swerve them for this but might have them on a Friday in the future.

Waiting to hear re an OASIS tribute which is looking quite hopeful at this stage, just haggling on the £££`s.
Should know by later on today or tomorrow am if its a goer:sorted:

Waiting to hear re an OASIS tribute which is looking quite hopeful at this stage, just haggling on the £££`s.

Have now heard back from them and would like some feedback. The band is WONDERWALL, highly rated......

Profile

Since emerging from Manchester Area in ’96, the band have established themselves as the No.1 tribute to OASIS, working around the UK, EUROPE and as far as the Middle East, regularly playing to sell out audiences. With the looks and sounds they are second to none.

Wonderwall have supported and worked with names including; JOOLS HOLLAND, STEREOPHONICS, DODGY, WESTLIFE, ASH and SARAH COX to name but a few.

The band have played many of the top venues, universities and theatres plus festivals such as Britannia Stadium, Hyde Park and Battersea Power Station with performances on Sky One, Central TV and Irelands RTE. They have also recorded sessions for Radio One as well as starring in the film ‘Live Forever’ along side Liam and Noel Gallagher, claiming the title as leaders in Oasis nostalgia.

Reviews
“There were so many Oasis tribute bands, but as soon as we met them we knew they were the ones…”
John Dower, Director ‘Live Forever’, Passion Pictures

“Value for money – Voted best Oasis tribute.”
FHM Magazine

The band have invested in the latest music technology and software giving the audience an Oasis night to remember.

However to make money on this we might need to go to £12 a ticket (we`ve never gone above a tenner before) as we have added costs to consider. We could break-even at a lower price but obviously we wanna make some money for BU out of this.

Any feedback appreciated as time is short to get this sorted (only 5 weeks away)

The Jamm or The Counterfeit Stones :sorted:

https://griffinpark.org/forums/showthread.php?t=44127&page=3&highlight=Tribute+Bands

In poll above The Jam and Oasis led the way. However The Jamm were/are too expensive for us. Looking at a 6-piece band who are a combined tribute to Weller, The Jam & Style Council though - watch this space :sorted:

Had a Rolling Stones band twice before and although they are very good the nights didnt attract huge numbers (The Counterfeit Stones would be a lot dearer than who we used).

Confirmed for post-Forest are WELLALIVE:

Should be a top night - ticket info etc to follow.

WONDERWALL should be appearing at The Hive in the Autumn. Finance agreed but couple of issues - mainly re PA matters (ours needs attention and they wanted us to provide the system seeing as they would be coming down from Manchester) - meant it made more sense to delay this until next season when we`ve had time to give ours an overhaul with a bit more time on our side. Hopefully post-match in September
