Praying for Barrow...

:fishing::fishing::fishing:
Just a though for you loyal, hard core, old skool supporters. Is there a inter-modal model of transport that could be utilised? e.g. train to Preston then coach and vice versa for the return trip?
roflroflroflroflrofl maybe we will have a old boys day out and fly

Praying for Barrow...

I went to Barrow-it was closed

Praying for Barrow...

Whats barrow actually like?

makes aldershot seem like Knightsbridge in comparison;)........barrow is without any question one of the roughest, 3 eyed outposts in the country....they get loads of 'lads' for the big games and it can be an intimidating place to go if you dont know whats in store;)

sounds bleedin great eh:sorted::sorted::D...........a trip for the proper brentford and none of that girly, liberal, muesli knitting contingent we seem to havelollol

count me in:wave:

Praying for Barrow...

Swim or row it! We can sponsor you!

have you heard about the current in morecambe bay one of the fastest in the world.
that's how come the tiddlies drown.

Praying for Barrow...

Great thread:rolleyes:

Yes let's pray for a trip that costs the club more money, an overnight stay, longer journey for the fans and costly for the fans in the current financial climate in a game only a few weeks before christmas:confused:

And didn't the thread starter also ban all talk of Aldershot yet talking about a fixture that hasn't even been decided is deemed more appropriate with many more important league games beforehand.

:nono:

This thread is in away travel, early talk - within reason - of how to get to various away games is always encouraged.

Fair enough. I just can't comprehend how anyone, unless they live near Barrow, can "pray" for a fixture that is clearly going to prove difficult for players and fans for the reasons i've stated.

Praying for Barrow...

It's the FA Cup!

Absolutely. :sorted: And more than that, it is or at least will be if they get through, one of those great Brentford awaydays. Why do you think the trips away to places like Carlisle and the wednesday night Worthington Cup game against Newcastle attracted so many of us ? Because they're trips you look back on. :sorted:

Praying for Barrow...

Oh, and by the way, I'll be rooting for Eastbourne as it's closer........:D

:sneakoff:

Praying for Barrow...

I will be interested to see the peeps not going to Barrow (or Eastbourne) and if we - fingers crossed - reach the Third Round moan as they can't get a ticket to Old Trafford... :fishing:

Praying for Barrow...

Port Vale is still far more important.
They had a good win at Huddersfield but have lost loads at home this season, I didn't go to H&W as I wasn't invited, I would have bought a ticket at the Rochdale game but couldn't.
It's 2 hours to Eastbourne (normal home game time) or 4 to Barrow by the way. Barrow for me.

It will take you longer than that Matt.

It's a nice fairytale story that suits the fa cup but to say that's why you want us to play them based purely on that is a bit far fetched if i'm honest.

What next, a thread praying not to get Chelsea away because they don't need our money:confused:

Surely a 1000 bees at Eastborne is better than 200 at Barrow, shouldn't the club and it's fans come first?

Praying for Barrow...

super j been there ,seen it ,and got the hat. no fairy tale its football and if you think mustering a thousand at eastbourne is good then dream on ,maybe your pocket money wont stretch that far and you dont like the travel, but visiting grounds with history adds another dimension to the f a cup as late on in life its fun to have memories and going to the south coast doesn't do it for me PS done barrow with about 160 2x ging gang goo lies and 40 on train and cars as you say long journey?????

Praying for Barrow...

All possibilities will be explored. Including minibus taxi from Lancaster or Preston.
hi nick
Minibus taxi from Lancaster is nearly 50 miles to barrow could prove quite costly.
can find out price from a taxi firm just down road from me,let me know if you want any more info.:wave:
P.S preston to barrow is over 70 odd miles.........

If you're saying that you've been to Eastborne but not Barrow and that's why you'd prefer Barrow then that's fine, but I would guess that most of us haven't been to either so would rather the more local tie.

Visiting new grounds with history is all well and good but my priority is to win the match, what do they say about a 12th man? I'd much rather see a packed stand full of bees than an empty one with a few fans just happy to see a new ground up north:rolleyes:

There would be 100s of Bees in Barrow and no balloons in sight. The 12th man would be big in voice.

j read thread again last paragraph ,ps done barrow obviously your eyes wont see that far north if you cant see the thread .anyway you stay down sarf were your carpet slippers wont get chance to get cold when your back from eastbourne

Praying for Barrow...

Apologies I admit I mis-read it.

But then i'm now more confused, you've been to Barrow and you love the fa cup because you get to see new grounds, yet you pray for Barrow cos it's a ground you've already been to?

Praying for Barrow...

It's not exactly down to anyone on here who we get, it's in the lap of the gods and/or Barrow and Eastbourne, it's all academical - ie, don't worry about it.

COME ON BARROW! :D
