Programme Statistics

I am not an anorak but I do feel that if we have a statistics page in our programme it should be up to date and complete. I cannot be the only one who is interested in our away attendances.

In our away attendances section we have:

Aston Villa tbc
Derby County tbc
Arsenal tbc
Leeds United tbc
Norwich City tbc
Hull City tbc

That is 6 out of 17 away matches - over 33%!!

The clubs above are all self styled 'big clubs' with modern grounds that it is dictated must have accurate records of fans in each section for
H & S reasons.

Therefore, why cannot someone at our club update the information after liaising with the home team?

I used to write in one of our fanzines and with just a phone call to the home club and I would be given the away attendance.

If we are not going to do it properly then don't bother to do it at all.

I'm sure all clubs announce the away attendances on the day don't they?

They don’t and from experience doing the job, some clubs don’t like to give it out.

You can tell the football’s going well when we get threads like this. :fishing:

I agree, very annoying, especially as the away attendance is almost always announced on twitter but never followed up in the programme.

Benham, Crown, Devlin, Frank, Kurt and Gilham OUT!

None of those away attendances, for those matches above, were "officially" announced. Therefore, nothing is in the programme.

As rebus says above, some Clubs don't like to do it.

You could always ring up and ask them I suppose?

The figures are collated and sent to the EFL so perhaps they should force clubs to release the information on the day.

Programme Statistics

Wasn’t there an EFL forum that used to list them all?

Hi

I'm not an anorak either but this also annoys me.

The MPS Brentford Police Twitter account often posts the amount of away fans we take, and also how many come to GP, and trawling back through their feed in a quiet few minutes at work, I've managed to fill in some of the gaps.

Aston Villa - 660
Arsenal - 8,500 approx
Leeds - 474
Norwich - 877

Nothing for Derby or Hull though

Surely the club can do the same?

Really, it is the Arsenal one I was interested in as I read it is the highest away following by any club this season! If so then we should be very proud.

That has been widely reported, and would appear to be accurate to me.

Are we counting tickets sold or those who actually entered the away end? ;)

I bet there wasn’t the full 8500 Brentford inside. :)

Is that ticket sales in advance? Or those who actually walked through the turnstiles??

Plus, any who paid on the day too. Were they in the MPS numbers??

Yes as there were more than 500 at Leeds

These were the figures the MPS gave after each of those games.

Certainly not 8,500 left of their own accord.

Which is different from the tickets sold figure Leeds will end up giving to the EFL for their records.
