Pub Needs Refubishment - Help Needed!

Hello everybody

I've got a pub that I've just bought - it's on the corner of my road,

I need some help with the contracts etc. Can anyone recommend me someone that has experience of the property business to help me

I've got a budget of £20,000. Can anyone tell me how much I should be ripped-off for by my employees

Happy to supply more details if anyone wants to know

Re: Pub Needs Refubishment - Any Ideas

Can someone give me a quote please.

I need a bracket attached to a wall somewhere in Osterley. I'm told by a mate that this will take two men all day to do and that they will need me to pay for transport from South East London and back again afterwards.

Is this reasonable?

May I ask?

Is this a arabian carpet from that you have acquired from a trip to Middle East.

I've been contacted by a rather dubious pair of characters that are suggesting that they go to some arab country and that as long as I don't talk to a Jewish Pornographer they will come back with the readies to paint the roof of my pub and a new name to put on the shirts of my bar staff.

Should I trust them?

Listen mate, it's carpet from Saaaaaaaaaf London, keep asking questions like that & you may find yourself proping up a Mono Rail pillar.

I heard a plumber got called to change a toilet roll in the gents at a small west London football ground and he charged £800 for the job. Big job it was too but then it was organised by an Olympic-sized sh*t. Very reasonable I thought.

I hope you're not referring to my mate who went wiv me to some Arab country and came back wiv a story that readies were on the way. Completely blew the budget at some little football club that was relying on the lolly.

I think more light should be shone on this matter. But I seem to remember that my mate had bovver wiv lights at some other sarff east football ground.

He left there rather rapidly but got fixed up via some prize mugs at another club.

Yes it is if you couldn't be bothered to mention that you wanted to hang a bike on it. For God's sake man this is the sort of detail that should have been mentioned at the outset as there is only one crew in the whole country qualified and able to undertake such a task. The fact that they happen to travel from south east London is immaterial. We are lucky to have them at our disposal and they are the finest that money can buy.

I've got another problem. One of my senior employees seems to be using lots of security staff - according to the invoices that is. However, whenever I go to count them when we are open, there never seem to be the number that appears on the invoice. Can anyone tell me what's going on?

For anyone not in the know...enough hints on here to explain why Roy King is not at GP at the moment...

The said 2 men can be found in the cafe at Tesco's Gillette Corner drinking copious cups of tea and stuffing donuts down their necks - after all it's extremely tiring having to drive across London...all part of the service and only an extra few quid on the bill...now where's that invoice ...just stick another zero on the end...nobody will notice !!!
:D :D

But I thought we had a successful project manager overseeing the work at the PR during the summer?

What "said two men". I'm not talking about anyone you know - any similarily between other people and the people described in this thread is purely coincidental.

Anyway - it can't be the same people that are doing up the cricket pavilion at the club I'm a member of in Osterley. The quote I got also said that they have to borrow the club's minibus every day and that we have to pay their petrol costs for getting to and from the job.

They said they even managed to do a couple of 'cowboy' deliveries on the way for a few extra quid...well you know what the traffic is like getting from Sarrrfff London....held up for ages we was mate....traffic everywhere !!

Now where is that nice man from that football club who said he would see us alright...for a generous fee.... :D

It's all so easy Banana -

Employ a mate as a Club "Handyman" and then a 2nd mate cos the first mate can not drive and the 2nd mate is his driver -

Problem is, 2nd mate does not have a vehicle.

Solution. let the 2nd mate have the Club Minivan so that 1st mate and 2nd mate can be transported back and forth from their Charlton area homes - And the Club even pays for the petrol so both 1st and 2nd mate are verry happy.

You then let them have days like today - Start off with a nice breakfast in a cafe near Brerntford then jaunt down to the training ground as George always good for a nice cup of tea. Leave traing ground around 12.30 having done bugger all since starting the day.

Farnham - I mean today December 1st, year of our Lord 2005.

And I must add, 1st mate (Or was it 2nd mate ?) said that Roy King was being made a scapegoat for many things - After all, there are others above Roy who should have been checking everyhting. It was said in a broad Charlton accent and hence not sure if it was 1st mate or 2nd mate who said it.

Paul, I'm assuming you have taken the chance to inform the Club formally of this?

Do you define "successful" as trousering money from people who walked to Hartlepool in the freezing fecking snow, kids who walked to Wycombe, mugs who cycled to Brighton, idiots who had standing orders and buffoons who wave goodbye to their hard-earned cash as it hits the bottom of collection buckets every other fortnight in order to boost someone's pension plan?

I wonder if fellow GPGers can help me a little further.

At the Bedfont Cricket Club we have a little problem. We've got a chap on the committee - name is Thug Black - every time we ask him to contribute to the Tea Money, he never does - then he says he was never asked. Anyway, he keeps on about we should move to a new place about a 100 metres away: "Blair Road" or something (he's always coming up with imaginary sites - some people call "Walter Mitty" - whatever that means). Anyway, we've told all our members about this exciting new opportunity and they're well up for it, the club have even forked out on an exciting model with little men and trains with one wheel going round and round and round. Don't get me wrong he's worked very hard (and I know he wants to be appreciated) - he's even found a grant to improve the ground from a quasi-Government organisation (all credit there). So wif the money he's been on about putting a giant marquee up over the land at the end of our ground nearest the Eelling Road end - we've had some complaints from the neighbours but he soon saw to them. Or rather his friend did. You see his friend runs the tombola stall at our Saturday fetes (he calls it "Bedfont Brass"), he always comes to the cricket games but never pays for teas either, oh well what can you do . Apparently he calls every resident and tells them Thug Black's latest plans and if they don't agree he tells them "There's two ways of sorting this out: the legal way or the other way - and I don't want to be operating the Tombola when we sort it out the other way", Anyway, I digress.

Thug White is now saying that moving the deckchairs from the River Road End to the Eeling Road end would move them away from our traditional catchment areas and into the catchment areas of other village cricket teams miles away. We've also had to change the locks at the club as his mate Mrs Queen has been caught with her hand in the tea monies! Strangely at or about this time Thug White has gone all weepy and says that our pipe dream of Blair Road is a waste of time and that he was brought onto the board to do something else entirely - such as talk to his mates Neverfade Properties about a new sponsorship deal for the club shirt. Apparently this is worth "millions" - although why anyone would want to sponsor our shirt with a attendance of 50 and a ground worth millions in the middle of Mayfair I'll never know  He also talks trying to convince the local populus that as a we have been in Bedfont for 100 years and are called Bedfont but we should move away from Bedfont so that we are nearer our traditional support base that is not Bedfont. He's mention six other sites some of which are in Woqueen and Queenstonian and he's successfully moved a football club from Cotfont to Blueford and cricket franchising is the way to go

GPGers will recognise that I'm doing a better job than God and Graham Hall put together when it comes to my humble club, In fact I get many fan letters every day from my close friends and family. HOWEVER!!!! Dark forces in my cricket club have been calling my wife (even though I don't have one, er or a phone for that matter - but let's not dwell on the detail!) threatening her about the quality of the teas and suggesting that they've had enough Prawn Sandwiches.

So, fellow GPGers. I trying to find a reason for all of this - can anyone help?????

I dunno what you're on about. It all sounds like a nice little earner to me. You missed out the bit about 'when the time is right'. I always throw that in - keeps the masses happy for a few months until they tumble.

Must close now, my feelings have been hurt lately and I may or may not pack it all in - thus causing at least 14 sponsorship deals to collapse due to my absence.

Yours ever Arfur Daley
