QPR Players.....

Found this somewhere...

Sunderland are preparing a £3m bid for 6ft 6ins QPR striker Peter
Crouch, who they see as a perfect replacement for Niall Quinn.

Looks like they maybe having a fire sale - any players worth trying for?

QPR Players.....

I tell you what - bloody Peter Crouch isn't, that's for damn sure. The new Niall Quinn? No. The new Kevin Francis? Mmm. No touch, just a big lash and a lonnnnnnnnnnnnng neck.

QPR Players.....

And aren't QPR's players being sold because they're on high wages, obviously way to high for us

QPR Players.....

My friend whos a QPR fan said that they have 21 players who are out of contract at the end of the season. How can Crouch be worth 3 million? He hasn't done anything all year.

QPR Players.....

Isn't Crouch the poor man's Daniele Dichio? If Sunderland pay £3m for him, I'm betting on them going down next season - I thought Peter Reid had more sense.

QPR Players.....

You forget that Sunderland already have Dichio!

not wishing to stick up for a fellow lanky freak, but Crouch is very good and has lots of potential, he wins every header and unlike most lanksters, he can actually head a ball very well! he's also very adept on the ground, as i witnessed when i saw him at Hillsboro (when Weds crushed them 5-2, but Crouch scored their 2!) if you're looking for evidence, see rangers' second goal at Tranmere on Saturday... what rangers have missed all season is a good partner for him...

Julian Charles pace is blinding, but his shots are more like something Ray Charles would come out with (Sorry Ray)

he's gonna be good, i reckon possible england potential (god, i'm gonna get killed for that)

QPR Players.....

I'm with dan the Bee on this one. I seen a few of the goals he scored and they weren't poor by any stretch of the neck....urm...i mean imagination.
He aint worth £3m tho, agreed. But the figure I heard being touted was more like £1.5m.

and if he does ill be more than prepared to eat a large helping of humble pie, but that i cant see.
my assessment wasnt just based on the qpr game dan, but also from a mate who went to school with him and said he was dire. but then again another mate said rowlands couldnt get into the drayton manor first xi, so i admit ability at an early age doesnt mean everything.

QPR Players.....

Can someone bring up the match reports of the QPR friendly cos I can remember saying that when he came on everybody went "what the f*****g hell is that", but then we agreed he was the best player on the pitch!!

QPR Players.....

As I've said before, he will have several broken legs to worry about during his career - isn't that enough on one guy's plate to be bothering about scoring a hat-trick against Brazil in 2006?

QPR Players.....

Not only are Sunderland in for Crouch but he has had phone calls to his home from both Leicester and Celtic because he has no agent. He must have something going for him.

I went to school with him, he certainly wasn't dire. He didn't stand out as the best player necessarily when playing for us but he was playing for Spurs youth team at that stage already. That is true about Rowly as well.

being a good boy, here's the thread mhead bee: http://gpgrapevine.co.uk/ubb/Archives/Archive-000003/HTML/20000806-6-000055.html

where you are quoted as saying :

<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">
QPR had a 6 foot 6 inch stick insect that every body took the piss out of from the moment he came on.He must have been 7 stone he was that skinny.Oh how we all laughed when he got the ball and all giggled at the sight...that was until he showed excellent first touch, good in air, very fast and basically pissed all over anything we have had up front for 18 months.Nice to see all the bees join in his standing ovation as he left the pitch with 10 to go.</font>
