Raynes Park Vale

Because the Vale need their own thread! (With apologies to @SpiderBee …)

Seen them 4 times this season and they have won all 4, top of the CCL Prem South by 6 points as of today, unfortunately no programmes (at least not when I’ve gone) and no chaps, but there is an impressively high dog to human count - at least 3 dogs per match, including the Scottie terriers Vic and Bob who are half Vale, half Hammers fans and their owners are very good company.

it’s £8 to get in (standard CCL price), there’s a burger / hot dog bar (sorry don’t know prices because eating’s cheating, obviously), beer is £4.50 a pint.

Attendance of 168 (excl dogs) v Colliers Wood on Tuesday evening.

I remember the old Malden Vale club, they merged with Raynes Park to form RPV.

I was with Vale for 7 years. Now been at Colliers Wood United for 18 years. Our home vase game with Vale was watched by 190 last Saturday.

Yep I was one of the 190!

Impressive service to both clubs.

The Wood programme is very informative, btw - much appreciated!

An excellent 2-1 win somewhere in deepest darkest Kent takes the Vale into the last 32 of the FA Vase … a home draw in the next round, strategically moved to forward to a 1pm or 2pm kickoff (because we‘re playing Bournemouth at 5.30pm), would be ideal!

Still 1st in League
2nd now has to have a play off with a club almost relgated from Step 4

Combined Counties League has a weird set up

Look at the following for a fixture list !!!

Not helped by the fact that Westside groundshare with Colliers Wood, who themselves have a load of matches to play before the season’s end…

Details of the new play offs

Second in Step 5 plays away in one off match against 18th in Step 4

Is this the first time it has been play off levels between an almost promoted and almost relegated ??

I remember the EFL tried it once in the late 80s but never again

Three wins from three to start the season off in the Pitching In South central Division.

Any other GPGers going to watch Chertsey v RPV today?
Chance for Chertsey to go top, with leaders, Southall having their game at Thatcham postponed.

Best I’ve seen from Chertsey in a long time…could have been 6 or 7 2nd half ??
Paid my first visit to Chertsey town fc yesterday, quite impressed with the ground.
Pitch was the best I’ve seen in non league for a long time, perhaps only Bognor
is better. Entertaining match between two top 6 clubs, first half fairly even, but second half
Chertsey stepped up a gear to win comfortably in the end of a feisty second half, in which
I thought the Ref did pretty well.
Good facilities in the bar
Good crowd 689
I’ll be back ?
