thats 3500 more a week than we can afford! loan a big name is what i say!im sure there is some big name out there that has earnt enough money over their career who would love to get 1st team footy and save a club in trouble.....Whatever happened to Nevin Soroya ? maybe Viney jones comes out of retirement ..maybe not

We shouldn't take him on even if he offered to play for free. He can have a space in the squad only if he's prepared to pay us £1,000 a week for the privelege.

Can't think why anyone thinks we would have room for someone so fat that he has to get his shorts specially made.

Razor for the Bees? I know things are bad but lets not panic. The only useful thing he could do would be to fall on top of RN and crush him to death.

he's also rubbish and his disciplinary problems would ensure that we would be playing most of our games with ten men!!

However having said that if we do sign him we might actually start games with ten men...which is by no means certain at the moment!

Worryingly one of the sunday rags ( People or the Mirror , can't remember which one ) speculates that Wally is ready to throw Ruddock a lifeline and bring him to GP :eek:

if neil ruddocks prepared to take a pay cut then yea sure good signing, played for england, liverpool, spurs and got the experience to help the matt somners, paul smith, dobbo and evans develop into better players and will raise clubs profile.

The paper that speculates on Ruddock joining us says that they are friends from when they were at Crystal Palace at the same time (Wally as coach, Ruddock as player). Only problem is that Ruddock didn't join Palace until Wally was already at Brentford.

Don't believe the papers, especially when they print such obvious garbage. What the hell would we want with Ruddock who has shown at Palace and Swindon that he's past it?

I heard yesterdau on Sky Sports news that a non-League team (Chippenham Town I think) have offered to take Ruddock from Swindon.

A spokeman for the club said that they'd take him, get him back into shape and then hand him back to Swindon.

I heard Razor on Radio 5 on Sat morning saying how happy he was doing a bit of coaching at Swindon and was going to sit out his contract there.

He also said he only looked fat because of the "cut and design" of their kit.

Okay there were it seems unfounded reports in the press that the Bees are considering bringing in Ruddock but so what, this is what the sports pages are all about.

I am not sure exactly what is "scurrilous" about the reports but presumably if future press reports are not denied then can we assume that there is no smoke without fire.

I dont think he would want 4k a week, or anything even near that. We need a bit of experience, so what if hes fat? As long as he can last 90 minutes.

Perhaps an over reaction, but the invention of the "fact" that Wally was a coach while Ruddock was at Palace, when it isn't true, and the failure to check such a basic fact, is indicative of sloppy and unprofessional journalism.

media crap

it's the same old crap different day with regards to the media, there are some good over 35 year old players out there but it seems as soon as they move slighty down the league they are a donkey, 10 stone overweight or mentally imbalanced. most of these crap stories are idle gossip, we need experience at griffin to educate the younger players and with downes i think we will manage it, watch this space!
