I thought he had a good game, let the play flow a lot. Was a penalty early doors though, Kuffour would have been clean through and their defender dragged him back. Had he given it he also would have had to dish out a red card as he was the last man.

Not necessarily, as I don't think Kuffour would ever have reached the ball. Whether that played any part in the decision not to give a penalty, I don't know (it shouldn't) - refs may feel more suspicious of forwards who fall when they have little chance of getting the ball
