For the record, who was he?
He should stick to umpiring.

Here's a question for Darren Fletcher and Ronnie Sausage... An away team find themselves one nil up and try to waste time by feigning injury, taking ages over throw-ins etc. Suddenly, they're 2-1 down and we reach 90 minutes. 4th bod, on the touchline, sticks up a board saying 9 minutes. Is there a case for the fourth official being allowed to reduce added time as it was the losing/away side who were responsible for the time-wasting?

I mentioned this to my boy, in a light hearted way, but don't see how it can be policed.
was it the Chelsea doctor doing a bit of moonlighting maybe? Was the guy in the Brentford tracksuit who treated a number of their 'injured' players the Bees' doctor or something?
Let's be fair to Preston, if not the ref. I don't know where 9 minutes came from, but didn't most of the injuries which it's being suggested were faking happen when they were already behind?
He was sh*t. Even if you ignore the fact he booked our players for nothing and gave a free kick every time Preston players threw themselves to the ground and in some cases did sound effects as well.
He made 2 calls which were astonishingly incompetent.
1) Gives Preston a free kick. Allows the goalkeeper to dropkick it - luckily it went straight to Button
2) A free kick outside their box to the left side, allows the keeper to take it from his 6 yard box!

Please don't allow the truth to get in the way of an excellent theory.![]()

The sudden Garner collapse was on 50 minutes. Timed at 1 minute. The Barbet delay was after we scored and was timed at 1 minute 20. I'd like to know where the other 6 and a half minutes came from.
I wasn't surprised by the extra time. Preston had 2 players needing treatment early in the 2nd half, Barbet also did and there was a later incident when a Preston defender headed the ball while lying on the ground, then needed the physio. Add on 5 or 6 subs, and probably a bit of time wasting, and 8-10 minutes was what I expected. Ref was poor in other respects, esp in first half, but I think the time-keeping was right
That's more or less what I said at the time, although I think that I mentioned 3 mins instead of 2!!Probably the only thing he got right to be fair..... I can guarantee that if we were 1.0 down it would have been 2 minutes though.
Right up there with the poorest refs we have seen in the last 10-15 years in my opinion.
He could have booked macca for pestering their players but decided to do it on the one occasion they ran across each other and touched legs. Canos booking was a joke as he disn't really do anything and was getting clattered. Booking Marco was a joke, hardly inciting the crowd, after the goal his momentum took him to the hoarding and everyone cuddled him.
Other than the above which could all have gone either way, the amount of poor decisions regarding free kicks was mental. Toums got really agitated at one point and clattered one of their players and he didn't even give a free kick, nice to see MD having a few words with the other bench afterwards. Some rally crazy pushes on the back 4 by preston forwards that were just totally ignored.
Utter prikk.

Thanks. I'm told, however, that it's not the truth.
Their knob who decided to head the ball on the floor took a couple and the even bigger knob with the dreads who sat a yard from the touchline took a couple minutes as well.
It was more that the ref was just determined to be the star of the show and milk the limelight for as long as possible.
No way should they have got 5 or 6 minutes added for their time wasting!
Didn't quite get a handle on what happened to knob number one. It appeared that he managed to knock himself out by nodding a stationary ball on the floor. And to what end was he attempting this dubious feat in the first place?

I can only assume he slipped but it wasn't obvious and looked quite bizarre, I remember that dwarf for Watford getting down on all fours to do the same at GP last season?

It wasn't just that, after he headed it on the ground canos hurdled him and he stuck his leg out to trip him up before totally collapsing.

I'd actually say he got that booking correct with Djuricin.
However we want to see it, he ran to the crowd, up against the boards and basically encouraged the fans to hug him. This is against rules and he broke them. He knows it too as it's not something new. Petty, yes. Wrong decision? No.
