Referees sacked

Interesting bit of news on two of our favourite refs. No details given though.

Ref and lino were incredibly lenient all night.

Never seen an officiating team blatantly ignore shirt pulling as much before. As for the keeper's handball, there was no way he shouldn't have been sent off. Clear goalscoring opportunity.

I just watched the highlights. I must admit the first reaction to it was handball. I had to go back and see it again, and still think it was a great save by the keeper. How did the referee not see it? What was he watching that meant he completely missed this?
I think it was Romaine Sawyers goal, where the ball was initially on the right hand side of the pitch and saw our guy being pulled all the time. He was very clever to have broke away from him eventually but in that situation the referee really should have stopped play for a free kick. He was being dragged/pulled back at all times. Thankfully, his leniency meant that we scored but if that happened on this instance. What else happened in the game that was missed?

The problem I have is that the Linesman and Fourth Official both also missed it, unforgiveable.

4th official isn't there to over rule the referee. Can give advice when asked but is there as back up if any of the 3 main men (or women) and to also manage those in the technical areas and events within such as substitutes thus allowing the assistants to concentrate solely on his or her own game.

Have to say that Woods and even the Watkins challenge - where he was booked about three minutes after the tackle - could have been reds.

The ref was poor in other decisions, but we got lucky too with the colour of the cards.

Tbf, he knew what he was doing - he'd lost control a bit in the first half with all the yellow cards, so second half he tried his best to give NOTHING - he let loads go and then relied on his fourth official for a couple challenges (hence the delay). The end of the game, he shouldn't have blown, but that was fairly minor and if we'd been winning no one would care.

That was a bit of a bizarre one, not only were we on the side of their penalty box, but the timer was on 2:59:00. It wasn't as if it was 30 seconds over so he thought 'this has gone on too long', odd to end the game as Watkins was about to cross.

If this referee is of Premiership quality, then something is really wrong with the standards needed to referee top level football. The way he looked away when there was a mini fight between Neal and a Millwall player was bizarre and how he just shrugged away strong
appeals for fouls on our players showed he had no control over what was happening. NOT ACCEPTABLE at Championship, or any other level.

Penalty debacle.... my take: not a penalty, but a dive. Result: incompetent ref blows for penalty, preventing Millwall from scoring certain goal. Bentley saves penalty. Moral of story: don't dive. Instant karma.

Without a shadow of a doubt the best ref we have had all season. Didn't buy into their dives and played an excellent advantage for our first goal (and still booked their player after). Top notch.

Some shocking decisions. Gave odd fouls to them and then similar fouls not to us. Woods and Dalsgaard fouls not given, even though they were taken from behind. Corners to them and not to us. I’ll take the penalty though! Not a good game from the ref.
