Just to let you all know, it has been agreed by Oldham Athletic and the owner of the flag, that the wording shall be changed!

Not sure as to what yet but i will keep you posted..lol

Again just for your information!

We attended the flag meeting with Alan Hardy, Ian Hill, Simon Corney and the Latics Safety Officer today at 5pm.

It must be said that an ammicable agreement has been made on both parts whilst they and us dont depict the flag as being racist at all or having a underlying message it has been agreed to replace the message.

The group who went to the club put forward there case and whilst LATICS THEMSELVES said they were quite happy for it to remain we thought it in the best interest of the football club and everyone involved to save embarrassment and PR hype/disaster that it would be appropiate to replace it with new lettering.

We would like to stress we have not backed down nor do we find it racist but we have the clubs interest at heart.

Finally id like to add whatever you think about 'them up top' at Latics they are the most genuine bunch of men you could ever come across (even Alan 'Everybody loves to hate him' Hardy)

Apologies for all embarrassment caused to all Latics fans out there, think of us what you will YES we have been naive in the past,YES we have chanted not nice chants but all this comes to a head after such a ridiculous week. We dont wish to say anymore as far as we are concerned the matter is finished.

True, it's a free country... but what relevance has the wording to football? You don't see flags with "I like chips in brown gravy" at many matches for that reason, so why this one?

It is not the wording but the context that is inappropriate.
