Relegation

We need play off form to stay up, doesn't look likely but in this division anything is possible as basically anyone can beat any other team, even Forest are wobbling.

It all depends if we can start scoring goals which is the route of why we are bottom, our record this season/ year is appalling.

Much may depend if FS can get even a half decent striker in to replace the ineffective Willock.

Relegation

We're down, let's face it yesterday was the most spirited performance I've seen in months against one of the worst sides in the division & we still lost & could have lost heavily.

I'm glad the players finally seem to have found the stomach for the fight but I can't forgive them for the couple of months of spineless displays that got us into this mess, the sooner we offload the vast majority of em the better. I don't mind watching us lose, God knows I've done enough of that, I expect employees of the club to earn their ****ing wages though & not turn in performances like the cup game against Donny etc.

Kind of ironic given how we were all bewlidered by the amount of strikers signed by Leroy at the start of the season...

Fact is, we're unlikely to find a great striker. Other fact is, we're lucky enough to have one in Kuffour. I think we need to focus on getting him good service and a decent tall, physically strong partner for him (Owusu why have your ligaments forsaken us???)

Lets face it we're also letting in sloppy goals so I'm not convinced a goal scorer is the answer to our problems.

Did leroy sign some strikers:confused:  I know he signed one(JK) but I aint seen or heard of any morerofl rofl rofl rofl rofl

Relegation

I think we'll stay up.

Before Fitz arrived we were so bad that we were not even close to competing in games. Since his arrival we have improved enormously. I struggle to understand why people expected us suddenly to do a Macclesfield and take 17 points out of a possible 21. Nice guy he may have been, but LR assembled a truely awful squad and then presided over some of the worst displays that I have seen in my 20 years of following the Bees.

We undoubtedly require more firepower, but for the first time in many games, I went home today thinking that we were very unlucky not to have taken something from the game. If Fitz can bring in another striker then it's still not too late to mount a late challenge for survival.

Regardless of the above spiel, I haven't missed a home or away game this year and if I refuse to resign myself to relegation before it is mathematically impossible to avoid it. Why else would I trapse around the countryside to watch my team if I wasn't an eternal optimist ?

I see no benefit in getting angry and slating the players or bemoaning the quality of off-field management. Whilst I may wish for an improved performance from the players, or for the directors to have decided not to appoint LR etc, etc, etc, everyone of them, directors, players, Fitz, are doing jobs that I couldn't do myself.

Positions such as the one we currently find ourselves in are part and parcel of being a supporter of a lower league club. Anyone can go and support a big Premiership Club, that's easy, but what we do is bloody hard, it takes real gutts to deal with the lows that we've had to experience over the years. Fact is though, we've always come through it. Things may seem bad at the moment but they'll get better, I'm sure of it.

After all, it's Brentford innit ?

Top post my friend:sorted: you are what we need right now, I have not. and will never say we are going down but what I will say is, it is gonna be a long hard winter but hopefully we will stay up even if the worst does happen I will still be there next season to see us go back up again :sorted: :sorted:

After the 3 signings were announced I thought we were buggered. I still think we will go down and have thought this for weeks if not months but to see the new lads perform like they did has given me more hope and more trust in Fitz's judgement.
Hopefully some good news this week.

I haven't heard her sing yet.

I have!!!!!

The day we appointed Leroy as manager!
And she begun to sing even louder when Fitz got the job.

You've got to be realistic, This group of players are not up to it and neither is Fitz. I'm affraid his managerial career will be ruined before it's really started.

Relegation

Honeslty i think were going down.
I'll still be attending all games home and away in faith even if were already relegated. And ill be at every home and away game next season.

We must beat Orient and then we will see what the table looks like, as most teams have a game in hand in us and Millwall have two games in hand.

Relegation

will be relagated by easter but will come back up automatically next season

Relegation

totaly disagre

Why?

We've won 4 (yes four) games out of 27. Realistically we need to win another 10 to be certain of staying in league one. Which teams can we beat? We lost 4-1 at home to the second worse team in the league FFS!

It won't happen. Sorry but anyone who thinks we'll stay up is sadly deluded.

Relegation

Staying up is still possible and there have been bigger turnarounds in the past. However, each game that goes by without a win makes it that much harder and less likely.

If Fitz manages to turn things around so that we have a good run towards the end of the season and that the rot is thoroughly weeded out that would be the best we can realistically expect. If we can do what Walsall did last season (possibly even more dire than we've been this season when they lost 5-0 to us) and start to shore things up even though avoiding relegation was unlikely, we have a chance of doing well next season in L2 with a completely clean slate and a whole new squad. The change in management at least means that we don't have to be looking at plummeting down to the Conference.

It sounds as if Fitz is starting to get performances out of the team. We need to applaud this as it continues and to give him support so that he is given the chance next season even if and when we do go down.

Good post.

The disgraceful attitude of the players, especially during the end of Rosenior's reign, has not only condemned us to almost certain relegation and further increase our appalling financial plight, but even estranged the club from much of it's support.

Rosenior was incompetent, but the outright cowardice of most of our squad, including the senior players such as Frampton and O'Connor, sickened me. That we then appointed Fitzgerald as manager, with no managerial experience whatsoever, further compounded the misery.

After a disastrous start in which Fitzgerald threatened to prove worse even than his predecessor, he finally solved the most strikingly obvious tactical error (Playing our only good forward in left midfield) and immediately we began scoring again.

I desperately hope Fitzgerald will somehow perform a miracle and save us from relegation, but although his recent signings seem impressive, unless we beat Orient on Saturday that's it.

The alternative appears to have been another manager with no managerial experience.
You cannot appoint anybody with experience if they are not interested in the job.

I think the key thing here is that you cannot appoint anyone with experience if you offer them peanuts and a six month contract...

Patterson was offered a 2 1/2 year contract with 6 months notice period. Seems quite reasonable to me.

The Fact that our set of players have not been able to score a goal away from home since Millwall away just sums the whole thing up, just think how many minutes of football that must be and they haven't managed a goal!!!
Getting Leroy to manage our football club also sums up the brains of our board..Clueless. Even so there was certainly a few people on the GPG, I remember clearly who, whole heartedly backed his appointment, the appoinment to this day baffles me! We are going down without question. The question will be, will it be the lowest ever points total?...I said this way back in November. Keep backing Scott, it's not his fault he has inherited the worst Brentford side ever, and performances have slightly improved under him which is something with these bunch of muppets. I hope that in in the summer we have a massive clear out and have a fresh start under SF. This has to be the most Depressing season ever Surely!

All we have to do is win the rest of our home games, and that will give us the 51 pts required
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek
sounds simple NOT

First time I've actually read that he was on 6 months notice, in this business that sounds fairly good for a relative novice.
Do we know that he turned it down, or what went wrong that resulted in the panels choice not actually becoming the new manager?

Relegation

I am afraid this club is a shambles from the very top to the very bottom. Having little or no money does not have to mean relegation it is more the way that what money there is is spent. I fear the fighting chance fund will be squandered or misused.

Could somebody please remind me.

When was the last time we actually finished rock-bottom of the league and in what division ?

We'll stay up because all the other teams will get docked points for match fixing.:sorted:
