Remember when this was fun?

Back when we had gas lamps and an outside toilet, I remember the GPG was fun. Bows and arrows were still on the Secret List and ricketts had yet to be ridden from Hounslow. I used to post regularly on the old GPG but now only occasionally here. I yearn for the good old days, but nostalgia just aint wot is was, is it?

All there seems to be now is a load of people moaning and slagging each other off. Where did all the fun go?

Seriously though, you're spot on. It's incredibly tedious and it's time it stopped - but then you've started another thread about it.

I'm planning to ban messageboard wars from here - and debates about the rights and wrongs of it. This forum should be for talking about the Bees - not taking a pop at each other.

Although I can't find anything to moan about at the moment! Gibbo's form has improved dramatically, Owusu is playing well, Evo is in the best form of his life, Hunt doesn't know how to celebrate a goal properly, and this leads to only 2 talking points about football, Price and Burgess.
Christ, messageboards are more fun when we're not very good.

Russ , me old mate ,just what I was thinking as I sat on me throne at home last night.As I donated a pc for the " cause " to the originator of this board ,I get relly peeved with the new nerds on here.How many of us old boys bother to post now,Me , you , Ed ? I only come on now and then and I only cast an eye on general to see if anything important has happened. I look at transfers as well and then visit big match if I need a report. Apart from that, what was an obsession a few years ago (discussing bees all day with people that are actually interested), has become tiresome!!

Come on then Edmundo, close this thread. remember what you said. I and many others in the 'free-thinkers' camp abided by what you have said, although you are pretty wide of the mark on this issue as per usual.

But because one of the wider clique, has decided to have a moan on the subject you choose to keep it open.

Would you done the same if this thread had been started by myself, Sweepy or the like? I doubt it very much.

As, always this stinks of double standards and outright hypocrisy.

And to the person who accused this all of being a battle about which website/message board is better. It is not, it is about attitudes and an obvious 'class divide' which exists between SOME members of the GPG and Beesotted.

Too many cyberwarriors on the various boards to exert their fragile influence.
Truth is that the old GPG was a forum for people to share views, and take the mickey out of each other. Now it is a platform for people to prove themselves keyboard wise.
The old GPG really showed up people's characters, and it was full of them. However, with so many members these days, it's really difficult to understand everybody's demeanour.
I mean take Bigbee for example. He could post one message per week, and get slated for his type of sense of humour, because loads of people have had little or no experience of his sick, twisted, warped sense of humour!
