Rene Howe

Been a brentford fan for donkeys years but I was born in Kettering northamptonshire befor moving to London. I often pop back up and this guy has caught my eye www.ketteringtownfc.co.uk, his name is Rene Howe and he is on a rich vain of form at the moment, saw him play against stafford rangers a few weeks back. What with the impending transfer window looming I would recomend that he is worth a look. The next DJ in the making, you heard it here first. And god knows at the moment we need something

I think BeeH might have something to say about him too

Rene Howe

They are having a decent season and he was supposed to have been very lively in their 4-3 defeat to Oldham in the cup.

Rene Howe

Kettering Bee Jnr has watched him a couple of times this season and rates him highly.

He was mentioned on here at least a year or two ago. He was playing and scoring for Bedford at the time before going to Kettering to team up with Wilson again.
In our position he must be worth a look at if we haven't already.
Worries me why nobody else was interested at the time as it was no secret he was looking like one for the future.

Serge 'Sergio' Makofo (who got a game against Staines on trial in the summer for us) also seems to be doing well with Kettering Town this season, going by his profile anyway.

Couldn't face going to Crewe today after Saturday's shambles, so I took the opportunity to watch Kettering Town. Rene Howe looks a real handful and I reckon with the right coaching would be a decent prospect in league 2. Decent pace and good touch for a big man. Good in the air and most importantly seems to score a quite a few. However, the player that really looked good was Andy Hall. Hall is 21 and joined Kettering a couple of years ago from Coventry. He's a real little pocket battleship with a fair amount of skill. Apparently he can play anywhere in midfield. Reminded me a bit of Andy Sinton and Tabby. Would like to see us sign him.

I posted fitz and john griffin a copy of the evening telegrath and citizen news paper plus my scouting report last week, the guy would do well for us, but no doubt he will be snapped up else where. Rene Howe is a real prospect.

Also did craig westcarr play, he seems to usefull along with dempster? They have a good set up and would no doubt give brentford a tonking

I agree rough diamonds from non-league football is the way to go but we need to get rid of the crap we have at the moment,
The club need to act now !! Sack the manager , look for new one asap , give him time to clear the crap and assemble a side who will compete next season.
This is a must and anyone with a business brain would be doing it this morning !!! We need a head start on the other clubs , there is so much to do and the next manager cant wait untill july, otherwise we will fail again.
Do you think the board will have learnt from last year.?

4 months is long enough to sort this mess out. Trouble is its the mess that'll be doing the sorting.

I remember him, he was the one who replaced SF Jnr and SF Jnr had the right hump about it........Happy Days...pre season friendlies....

Kettering have "gone for it" and are full-time hence why they and Rene look a bit better than the norm in the Conference North

The lack of quality in the opposition was obviously factored into my assessment of Andy Hall and Rene Howe - Harrogate Town did look pretty poor. That said, I still reckon Andy Hall would do a good job for us. He's a real battler with considerable ability. Anyway, just picked up on a rumour that Oldham are/were quite keen on Hall. I think they got a good look at him during the FA cup game at Rockingham Rd.

Bee H, you spotted Howe during his Bedford days and thought him worth a look by BFC. Do you still think he's worthy of closer attention? I do.

Rene Howe

There are a few players at Billericay who imho are worth a look.

Centre Back called Blewitt and is former West Ham junior
Wide player called Whelpdale and Forward called Flack (not the former Exeter one).

Plus when I was recently in Ireland I saw 2 forwards for Lingfield, Thompson & Ferguson who looked superb.
Thompson has recently made the NI full squad. Ferguson may be a bit of an old stager.

Not seen him since he joined The Poppies at Rockingham Road, I liked what I saw when he was at Bedford though

Rene Howe

Apparently Posh are after him and have had a bid rejected.

Rene Howe

peterboro are the chelsea of the 2nd division. all cheque book. take that away and they are **** all

Rene Howe

He would be a great signing for us, but if the posh got a rebuff what chance have we got.

Rene Howe

Gutted IMHO a great signing for the posh and at 20 a real prospect.

Probably not as as good as Charlie. :sorted:

Having whatched both Ide and howe the obvious difference is hight both have pace both seem equaly at ease with the ball at there feet and both have an eye for goal. Charlie has shown at league level what he is capable of Mr howe has'nt but I expect both to do well next season with there repective clubs and both players have massive potential, both players offer different qualities to a team.

.................Plus ca change....................

Having seen Rene last season, I have to say that I would have liked us to have signed him. That said, he cost a fee and was, therefore, out of our range.

Andy Hall (also at Kettering) would have been worth a look at.

Rene Howe

People banging on about the same players over and over again gets boring KB! Even when they go on to fetch 7 million after scoring on their debut for England after being seen whilst playing for Bury.;)

Rene Howe

Could be going out on loan especially if Posh sign Simeon Jackson from Rushden.

We should have signed Simeon Jackson from Rushden & Diamonds earlier this season. I spoke to him recently and he would have jumped ay the chance to be with a league club again. This player has scored nearly a goal a game for them this season. If Peterborough sign him up then they are definitely on their way up.

I bumped into Nikola Zigic of Valencia, at an airport last March

Although he spoke little English, and I spoke very little Serbo-Croat, I got the impression he was eager to move to West London.
He verbalised his dislike of QPR, particular, and I quote "dat puta Rowlandz"

I think if Butcher was more aware of players outside of the scottish leagues, or ex-Orient players...he would have made a decent signing.

Barry Fry was on Anglia Tonight....tonight......and made a bold prediction that Peterborough would be breaking their transfer record within the next week. Now i'd added 2 on to 2 and wondered whether it could be the Northampton midfielder Bradley Johnson who is apparently odds-on to move on - supposedly to a Championship club but to Posh wouldnt surprise me with their ambitions/money.

Surely Jackson wouldnt command that high a fee would he? (Says he, not knowing what their record fee currently is). If so Fry could have been referring to him.

Rene Howe

Looking forward to todays posts re Lee Thorpe from you NB ! ;)

:D :fishing:

I'm only just seen this.:D I kept quiet whilst mongs told me what a good job he was doing and I'll keep quiet now that he is binned, should he come back though.....;) Don't ever tell him who I am though, I could handle Brooker but not him.

...................just how many players do Peterborough need?................

Rene Howe

I can't wait till it all goes tits up

You might like to remind yourself who inflicted Brentford's record defeat on the 24th November 2007.

For the record, Howe is gash - although even he managed to get on the scoresheet that day. He'll be about your level, though... just like Calumity Willock.
