Reserves vs Reading

The Combination game against Reading, originally scheduled for January 28th, has been rescheduled for 3pm today and relocated to the Madejksi Stadium! Very strange, especially as Reading don't usually play reserve games there.

The line for this afternoon's match is:

Alan Julian, Danny Allen-Page, Jay Smith, Ijah Anderson, Matt Somner, Paul Thornton, Riz Rehman, Eddie Hutchinson, Mark Williams, Norman Sylla, Mark Peters. Subs: Stephen Hughes, Robert Traynor, Lloyd Blackman.

Bees V Reading

Just got in . Bees 2 Reading 1 . Reading fielded a fairly strong side. Ashdown,Rifat,Smith,Gamble,Whitbread,Mackie,Campbell, Igoe,Butler,Cureton,Tyson.

The Bees. Julian,Allen Page, Jay Smith, Anderson,Somner,Thornton, Rehman,Hutchinson,Williams,Sylla,Constantine. Subs Hughes,Traynor,Blackman,Peters.

Thought we shaded it first half, well taken goal by Sylla who when put through lobbed the goalkeeper from 10 yards. Williams had a couple of shots one which must have taken the paint of the cross bar. Constantine and Sylla played well, considering it was Sylla's first game I thought he did well. Some nice touches, but is a bit light weight. The back 4 weren't very tall and Butler got above two to even things off before the break.
2nd half Hughes on for Somner. Bees looked good with some very good one touch passing. Traynor on for Williams. I was very impressed with him looked very sharp and eager for the ball took his goal well. Thornton came into the game 2nd half ( where's he from??) as did Rehman who looked nervous in the first half. Julian looked good throughout.

Edmundo. In answer to your question. He played Right Midfield and as the game wore on looked more and more accompished.

Any one have any ideas who he has played for ??? Could be a good replacement for Rowly if he goes at the end of the season.

All of the above are 1st team players not bad considering we beat. I loved it when my mate found out. He said it is only the reserves but I said we had one player I consider to be a 1st teamer. He said they had none. i.e Butler and Cureton are rubbish, Igoe is too small and Upson is better than Mackie or Whitbread. He was not sying that when they drew 1-1. How fickle the pykies are !!
