Restricted View Tickets

Whilst I am a fan of the new on-line ticketing system I was very annoyed on Saturday when the tickets I bought for New Road put myself and my wife in seats where the the whole of the Brook Road goal was obscured by a pillar. Luckily to my left were a few empty seats so we were able to move up and not have such a poor view. Now all seats are numbered and we have to sit in the allocated space it surely makes sense to identify seats with an obviously poor view and offer them at a discount. I booked my seats as soon as tickets became available so its not as if I was a late buyer. Funnily enough my seat tickets for Blackpool said 'restricted view' but they weren't.

Had the same problem Saturday. Both goals were out of view. Very disappointed.

The two rows behind the dug-outs are marked a restricted view but i agree that the club should identify seats where critical areas of pitch (i.e. the goals) are obscured.
Not unusual for football grounds though.
At the old Wembley, for the play off v Crewe, i was allocated a seat (paid full price) with a pillar 3 inches from my face. Since the pen was full we had to climb into an adjacent , totally empty pen to get a view. Cue huge arguement with brain-dead stewards.

Except that if you sell the (discounted) RV tickets last, then the nearest unrestricted seats should already be sold/occupied.

Of course, this may still require the Stewards to sort out occasional disputes*, but if the tickets and seats are clearly numbered, and the affected tickets clearly marked "Restricted View", then this need not be a problem.



* - By maximising sales, the club should be able to afford extra Stewarding

When I first got my ST in New Road three or four seasons back I had a good look round to see what was available. Unless you wanted to go quite a long way towards either end, or be in the first few rows, there were only a very few pairs of seats with unobstructed views of both penalty areas. There must be even fewer now that so many more are taken by ST holders. I think we're going to have to wait for the move to LR to get over this issue.

If you sit in the front row you can only see the players from the knees up (or waist up in the case of Pritchard and Judge) on the far side because of the camber on the pitch. Maybe this should count as restricted view too?

My concern also. Because of this inability to know if buying seats in the new road you will be able to see the goal, I'm considering buying Ealing Road tickets for the Norwich City game, even though we'll have to stand up. Is the situation better in the Bramaer road side? I.e. can I buy 4 tickets will resonable confidence I can see the goals. (I've never sat in the side in all my years of supporting the Bees).

The problem with the BR stand is the very limited leg room compared to the NR stand. It's like flying cattle class.

I'm glad someone's raised this - the pillars are a real pain from Row F upwards. What would be equally good is if the ticket office warned you that you might be sat right in front of a 'Moaner' or a 'Sunday League Tactical Genius', both of which I've had to trade off against the pillars over the years.

The pillars in BR are behind the paddock so if you want a decent unobstructed view I would suggest buying towards the back of the paddock.

New Road dugout can restrict view at the sides too. Not just immediately behind.

Unfortunately it will be trial and error as to what seat numbers are OK.

Another issue is that crowds are larger so you cannot see obviously better seats which are free and just move to them.

Just have to put up with it mate, my view is restricted by pillars, as are a lot of others. That's why loads of us have been campaigning for a new stadium for the last decade.

Just have to put up with it mate, my view is restricted by pillars, as are a lot of others. That's why loads of us have been campaigning for a new stadium for the last decade.

I have been there, really annoying and not any cheaper. Would be an easy one to fix tbo.

is now known as B305.
If you sit between the six
yard box and penalty
spot it offers an excellent
views of the pitch with
no restricted views/
pillars. It's also above
the paddock and close to
away end so it's good
for atmosphere but
generally safe
environment. You go
down a flight of stairs
and your near the snack
bar (to the left) which
also sells alcohol. It's
also close to the tunnel
where the players come
out onto the pitch. IMHO
it's better than the old D block which is nearer the half way line and has restricted views in many seats but is more popular with season ticket holders.

From your report I assumed you were sat directly behind a pillar.
