Part of what I thinks makes AS so good is that he seems to be able to identify players who fit in with his ethos, sell it to them and then deliver on it. If Scimeca doesn't want to buy into scrub him off the list and move onto the next target.

I've absolutely no idea what this player is like but I heard something interesting this morning ...

...a neighbour of mine went to the Watford/Cardiff game yesterday with his Cardiff-supporting brother who was telling me today that Simeca is expected to go out on loan in the very near future as he hasn't managed to get a starting place this season.

He didn't know where he was likely to go, but knew that he supposedly turned down a loan to Brentford at the start of the season.

Who knows ... but I understand he is a defensive/holding midfielder?

one or two players in their mid 30s is ok as long as it's not a team of old gits. harry boy was great at getting the best out of older players at pompey.

It is. Started as Cb and has played Cm for last part of his career. Was a regualr in teh England U-21 (may even had been U-23 that far back).
Good player in his day, but serious injuries may have now affected him somewhat.
I would think there would be better options out there.

Was once an excellent centre back though he had injury problems.
