Fair enough response. I belive the ultimate decision re Marinus would have come from DOFs/Matthew, not Robert. But your point about clarity of structure within the club is a fair one, and one I wouldn't necessarily disagree with. It's all become a little murky. But perhaps that was to be expected with such a huge change, things may just become naturally clearer with time.

I agree with your response in several places. Yes, I am sure that the ultimate decision re Marinus would have come from DOF/Matthew. It certainly is murky and possibly, only possibly, as a result of the change. Robert Rowan is a serious player, prior to arriving at Brentford he was DOF at Stenhousemuir and responsible for player recruitment working alongside the manager. Davewfilms has reported that he is studying for a Masters Degree in Sports Directorship so walking around Jersey Road as Head of Football Operations it is doubtful that he is only an Office Boy who is good with a Computer. As I see it he is either working alongside our DOF's collecting data from all sources including Training Sessions, analysing and reporting the results to them. This would make him a very unsavoury character who would be viewed with suspicion by whoever he was reporting on and I am not sure that this is the situation. More likely he is representing the DOF's as an equal and as such would directly supervise all engaged on 'Operational' football which probably means he was directly involved in the dismissal of Marinus. To answer HullBee I have no problem with a 24 year old who is clearly very switched on but may be in the future a hard nosed ex footballer who has moved into management/coaching possibly could well have. In any event it is easy to see why the likes of Warburton wanted nothing to do with this system. Yes, this is all speculation but clarity is certainly required. Belvederebee, thanks for your advice I have attempted to improve but I am afraid that I did not go to a very good school and English has dogged me all my life but I have done quite well to get this far I suppose!

I think you're looking for conspiracies where none exist. Neil McIlhargey will be the person collecting data on the players and, if you talk to any of them, they appreciate the statistics gathered and often will speak of how it helps them improve, rather than viewing them with suspicion. Players are not shirking on a factory floor, they are professional sportsmen who know their value is short-lived and want to optimise it. Rowan has been talked about since before his appointment at Stenhousemuir and is obviously a rising star; MB tempting him down to Brentford was seen as a coup at the time and it also takes him off the market for other clubs. There's plenty of ex-footballers who can shout at players; a certain Mr Butcher comes to mind and we don't need too many of them.

Bob the kit-man, on the other hand, when not stroking his pussy, sits in the dugout, pulling the strings... he's the one we require clarity on!

I have clearly misled you. Not for one moment do I consider that there is a conspiracy, as for the players shirking I certainly do not think that. Indeed on that last point I agree entirely with you. As for Robert Rowan there is no doubt that at the age of 24 he is without doubt a 'Rising Star' and I am sure that we are lucky to have him on board. The whole point of my posts is that I do think that the Club should make it very clear exactly where he fits in because I do no believe that he is a nobody just working on analyses, he is Head of Football Operation and I wish to find out exactly what that is. There are many on this Site who are not in favour of the new approach and a lack of clarity is not assisting to convince them that this approach is the way forward.
