Roger Cross
This makes sense looking back now, Cross was a big bloke but not a natural target man and didn't get many with his head. I wonder what would have happened if Blunstone hadn't left? Everett was a decent bloke, dealt a poor hand by the board, but Jim Langley would have been the better choice at the time.
I would be interested in others views of Roger Cross. I saw a lot of his games in a Bees shirt and whilst he had the right build for a top grade forward and certainly and looked the part for me he only ever flattered to deceive. Somehow I always wanted him to deliver more than he actually did. No doubt ChorleyBee and GeoffBee among others who seem to possess and encyclopeadic knowledge of former Bees will have some interesting comments.
