Ron can't win now

1500 words in programme tommorrow ends with , The fans should trust those in charge to do right thing etc.
If it is mega good news all that will happen is half of us will say " excellent news, I thank you", and half will say "he is only lying to shut us up whilst he destroys our club"
No matter what he says he can't win so no wonder he just closes ranks...I bloody would!!!

That's all very well, but the problem here is that what is at stake is of fundamental importance to our very existance. It is a sad state of affairs that the relationship between the fans and the owners have fallen to such a state of mistrust (and its no good any of us saying its just Rons fault). However, thats where we are and unfortunately the onus must be on Ron to improve the trust. Saying "just shut up and trust me" doesn't really help I'm afraid.

your right shaggy
why does ron now use a PR firm to talk to the press, instead of annoucing things thru the club??

Ron can't win now

I think that it is encouraging that Ron would go in print that his goal is to do the right thing. At least that concept is one that has never received any focus before. In the final analysis, Brentford FC is a business owned and controlled by Ron Noades. Like it or not he holds the reins. Stating that he aims to do the right thing by the fans is a step in the right direction as far as I'm concerned. Maybe we'll see some evidence of it soon.

Poor old Ron.

He has run up massive debts managed to upset nearly every Bees fan with his manner of utter contempt for us fans.

He is prepared to gamble with our very existence to play games with LBH.

Do you want me to go on?

He decides our future lies away from GP without any consultation with the real owners of BFC and for this he collects 168k per annum. Ie; Woking - are you going to go to Woking if we move.

He is prepared to make stupid ill thought comments to the media, but will never directly answer any concerns of the fans.

Fails to appoint RL as manager when he is doing an excellent job.

Sells our leading scorer for peanuts.

Finally and most important of all, thought criticism of W£BB unfair.

Poor old Ron must be distraught as he pours a fresh Martini in Costa Del Crime.

If I shop at a particular store and I don't like the service, then I will shop elsewhere.Mr.Noades MUST put the customers first!!....OR SELL UP!!

There is very little room for trust for someone who brings the club to the verge of extinction and then expects fans to trust him to do the right thing.
The first right thing he should do is what he promised to do when he took over ie fund the club. Pay off the debts you have incurred out of your own pocket stop charging us to use our own ground and stop taking your salary. Then we might believe you

That's your privilege Chrisbee. Mr. Noades' privilege is to do what he thinks is right as majority owner. There are no MUSTs for him, just choices. Hopefully his last statement reflects that he is moving to get Brentford positioned to have ahealthy future. Re-developing GP doesn't seem to be an option. Developing a new site (Feltham?, Staines?) may involve a season or two groundsharing (Woking?) during the development of the stadium, followed by a move into the new home. Of course there could be more sinister motivations about which we have seen much speculation. My point is that Ron is in charge and we can only hope that his comments about doing right line up with ours. Moves to boycott and encourage reducing GP revenue to zero don't seem to contribute much to a "right" solution.

Yeah, but if they only sell what you want in one shop......you go there don't you

For Christ's sake give the guy a chance! He's the only show in town! You may be agreeably surprised if you start fulfilling your role as supporters and allow the owner to do what he is clearly equipped to do if he decides that it is "worth the candle" and is being properly supported by true supporters.

For anyone interested you may also like to refer to my postings under the thread "What is the actual current debt of BFC?" where I have tried to set out as clearly as possible the current position as I see it.

Finally, please, please, get behind the team tomorrow against Stoke and make sure we get those three points. There is still a long way to go and we need promotion this year not another season playing in the lower leagues. It's up to everyone to want it enough.

The more he says the more he manages to worry us all! He insists he is only prepared to bankroll the club for two/three years, which is almost up. He has managed to create £4m in debt, though in in defence he had to find a totally new squad after the mess left by W£bb. At this rate, any proceeds from the sale of Griffin Park is barely going to leave any change for more than a rental charge for a conference ground. As for the stadium, he recently admitted in a Sky Sports interview that discussions with the Council have not been that progressive.

So our 'saviour' arrives while we have a cr*p squad, but no debts. It wouldn't surprise me if by the time he leaves, we are left with no ground, no decent squad and no money. I hope I am wrong, but unless one of our players is worth £4m can you see things ending up any other way?

Yep, pay up Ron. However, I assume he has had the good grace to stop paying himself his "management fee" after quitting as boss in November.

wait and see..... wait and see..... wait and see......
actions speak louder than words.what have his actions been? take over a solvent club, run up a massive debt while telling the world that he is 'funding' the club, then announce that bfc cannot stay at GP. oh yes, i forgot ,we 'might' have to move to poxy woking, only temporary you understand, and it's only maybe so lets WAIT AND SEE!
i've supported bfc as long as i can remember and shed blood for my love of this club on more than one occasion and i am worried sick about what may/might/is going to happen and i am absolutely livid about what IS happening right now.all my family support bfc back to my great grandfather and thinking about how one person has USED it makes me sick.
it was a game to him - now he's throwing the toys out of the pram.
i don't want to look back on this and say "i did nothing, i thought it best to wait and see"
the only reason he feels the need to justify himself in the programme is that he is aware of the unrest and anger felt by the supporters.
or perhaps, if some words of appeasement go in the programme, with a few hints of a happy ending, then we'll wait and see a bit longer, won't kick up a fuss, and his plans can proceed unhindered.
woking? you are f***ing joking

Ron can't win now

Roy Loak, you miss my point - I was only suggesting that we wait till tomorrow till we read what he has to say in the programme before we judge what we think of what he says in the programme.

Others have suggested that whatever he says in the programme won't satisfy some people - I won't comment on that. All I was asking was for people to read his words before judging his words. I share much of your disquiet about his actions.

Ron can't win now

fair enough 'edmundo'..... i was using your quote to illustrate my frustration with the wait and see tendency on this board, not intending to challenge you head on.

Ron can't win now

while i can empathise with pro-active feeling, maybe it is that Noades is trying to fix his boneheaded mistakes, and we're just not giving him a chance
