Vine

How good is Rowan Vine, Hes one of the best young players i've seen in red and white. I think we got lucky on this 1, he could do a job for us like Jermaine Defoe did for Bournemouth a few years back, 10 games in a row!!!!!! what does other people who were at the game think?

Rowan Vine

Exceptionally good.lots of running.good ball skills and good awareness.Had a couple of chances which may also have gone in.For my money potentially better than owusu.

Rowan Vine

Great performance. Full of running, brilliant finish for goal, could've had a hat-trick with a bit more luck. Brought other players into the game well.

Three months.

Not long enough :(

Sweepy can you ever post without putting a negative in it? Remember last year Burgess was only on loan for 3 months initally and Sidwell for one month so theres a chance we can extend this.

Rowan Vine

We have him on-loan for 3 months initially, with the extra option of extending his contract until the end of the season. Well, I'm sure I read that somewhere!

Rowan Vine

Looked very good. Has a touch of the forster about him. We could do worse than extend that three months to a year loan now.

Rowan Vine

I have a few questions: Where is he from, is he a striker, is he likely to stay for the rest of the season

I look forward to seeing him in action. he sounds just what we need

Rowan Vine

not being perdantic............

do people ever visit the OS or read older threads on here ? Hes a goalkeeepr CB

Anyone know how long the loan period is for?

No sorry, your as bad as CB, that was Vines one and only game for us ,check it on the OS

Brentford today signed 19 year old Portsmouth striker Rowan Vine initially on a three month loan deal.

Rowan, who stands at 6` 1" is a product of the youth scheme at Fratton Park, made his League debut for the First Division club the season before last and made a number of substitute and full appearances for them last season.

Where in that does it say only for one match BigBee??? What are you on about.

hmm...

bigbee - :D:D:D:D

some people...

thought it was a promising start, great finish too, and he runs a lot!!! but let's not get ahead of ourselves here...

Rowan Vine

Vine was class, top goal. And he's 19! Lets sign him now.

Rowan Vine

It was an exceptional debut from a forward and if plays like that at GP he will an instant hero. Good control, workrate, movement and pace, not a combination we have seen very often, thought marky Mac helped though holding the line well, creating havoc in their defence and creating the space for Vine to run into.

The goal was as good as Burgess has done for us.

erm, don't think he's available!!

Rowan Vine

Surely Vines not available...good is some respects...maybe we can get him on a yr loan??

We certainly wouldnt be able to cope with his wages anyhow. A player that looks that good on his debut is gonna get offered something better than £300 pw. At least this way, we won't lose him to Tranmere.

Well done Wally on what looks a good signing, even though i hear u were goin for the other geeza that went to QPR!!!!

Now another midfielder and we're all set!!

Rowan Vine

If this Vine guy is that good, why don't we sign him ? and look to make a few bob in months/years to come.
His wages can't be that high.
Being a non-contract signing just means the likes of Huddersfield or Tranmere or whoever he takes to the cleaners can see how good he is and snap him up under our noses, like Jason Price last season.

Rowan Vine

It very much depends whether he is a 3 month contract like Price, or a 3 month loan. Which is he?

Rowan Vine

He is on loan from Portsmouth, as has been discussed in length elsewhere. Sometimes I wonder whether Bigbee has the right approach here. Did you know that Fullarton is in fact on a four year, £3,000 a week deal?

Now I am confused!

I cannot believe we are paying anyone £3k a week, after everything that has been discussed. You are having a little giggle at our expense I suspect, Ed!

Rowan Vine

hmmm

Insurance maybe, but I think he would still be getting paid, he's not on a pay-as-you-play basis is he?

You've confused everyone now, Ed. You are joking aren't you?

What me? Of course not! ;) In fact I missed out a 0 in Fullarton's wages and apparently I got the length of his contract wrong. It is in fact a ten year contract, with the wages increasing by 50% a year.

:p

oh, that's alright then, thanks for clearing it up Edmundo ! ;)

Normal Noades service is resumed then eh ! :D

Rowan Vine looked exceptional when I was at Huddersfield. He and the likes of Roget, Fullarton, Sonko etc look like real finds. Where did Wally get Vine from???
