Roy King - Another Failure?

I have today sent the following email to the club. Yet another failure of RK that could have been simply remedied. In my opinion we now need to make formal complaints to the club every time there is a failing. They will not then be able to trot out the lame old excuses that they have no evidence of lack of capability, ability, etc, etc. We need to ensure those who are incapable of running our club are shown the door ASAP.

Sirs,

On the Official Site Q&A date 5 November 2004 Ashley Packer asked a question regarding the problems with flooding on the New Road concourse due to rainwater not draining away.

Roy King responded that he was aware of the problem and that in the design of the proposed refurbishment works this matter had been dealt with by re-aligning the levels in that area. Additionally, he remarked that this area would become a covered concourse. He went on to say that

“In the short term we have asked our drainage company to look at the possibility of providing a temporary answer to the problem”

Well, last night the New Road concourse was a disgrace. The area to the right of the turnstiles was completely flooded. Supporters had to paddle through water to get to their seats and the refreshment facilities. Clearly no effort had been made to even attempt to clear the standing water from this area. When I arrived at approx 7.10 pm the rain had to all intents and purposes stopped. The standing water could easily have been cleared. There were numerous stewards who could have been tasked with doing this. It is called a broom and you sweep the water away. I have confidence that even the stewards employed at Griffin Park could do this simple task! You do not need to spend money on the drainage to deal with this problem. I am sure had Mr King taken the trouble to investigate the problem for himself he would have realised how relatively simple it is to deal with the problem. It does not need drainage works unless a longer term solution is necessary should the refurbishment not progress.

Therefore, as Roy King by his own response to Ashley Packer is aware of this problem I can only presume that either he has chosen to ignore it to the inconvenience of supporters, or he is just negligent in discharging his duties!

I therefore wish to register a formal complaint regarding the standing water on the New Road concourse and the lack of any attempt by the appropriate person(s) to professionally and adequately deal with the situation.

Your assurances will be appreciated that the appropriate action has been taken against whoever should have dealt with this problem and that at future matches any standing water will be adequately dealt with.

Regards, etc

... and when the **** is someone going to fix the bent piece of guttering on the New Road stand that amkes it impossble for people to sit under when it's raining. How difficult can it be for someone whose 9-5 job is to look after an empty stadium?

This is great. Being totally inept I was thinking I'd never get another job but I obviously meet BFC requirements. Can someone design a BFC application form 'cause we dunce type people can't do that sort of thing?

The standing water in the New Road concourse was disgusting. Someone rushing to seats at the beginning of the match quite by mistake splashed water up the back of my legs. Nice. :drunk:

As somebody who "adds up" for a living I find it rather amusing that the same items purchased from the New Road "Deli" can vary in price from week to week ?

Last night the purchase of 2 coffees , 1 bovril, 2 balti pies & a yorkie came to £5.30.............. A quick add up of the prices on the board above the outlet told me it should have been £8.20 !!

Next week it might be anything from £5 to £9.........who knows ?

I'm normally quoted below the actual price...............so after about 2 seasons of this going on I'm off to Gordon Ramsay's little bistro for a free meal on the savings I've made.

I can see the reply now... either the drainage company cannot find a solution, or the cost of their solution is prohibitive.

And furthermore Spring is coming so most games will be dry and you'll have to wait until the refurbishment work on NR takes place in the summer... :sorted: :fishing:

Not Roy Kings fault Leonardo - have a word with Doug White, he gave up the Club's catering rights to Lindley Catering through to 2007 in exchange for a few bob to carry out the New Road feasibility study/Ground Improvements re the Football Trust monies.

Doug had always insisted that he'd put monies in to the Club to match other Directors 'entrance fees' when "the time was right" ! If ever the time was right I'd have thought it was then personally rather than give up a potentially good source of income for the Club especailly our last two home attendances !

The rest of the Board need questioning on this as well, if any of them had the balls to stand up and say something then .............

If Doug White had put his £100k in to the Club prior to the Lindley Catering deal then I do of course apologise and will retract this post immediately.

The tickets were ****ed up yesterday as well, we were double-booked and my dad had to go stand in the Braemar for the first half, luckily someone in front of us didn't turn up. I can't believe that the computers aren't linked up, where I work I can see the numbers go down on my screen as the person next to me sells them, which in turn is linked into the phone and net booking system. Pretty basic stuff that should have been dealt with in the first six months of getting BU people on the board.

I only realised when I turned up yesterday that I hadn't got my season ticket seat, despite ringing up 8:10 on the Monday. Luckily they managed to get the stand right.

Come on people, these are simply good honest mistakes, any idiot could make them

The hot dog ones don't sound it. It appears some spotty little herbert maybe pocketing some Bees fans hardearned :nono:

I think a mystery shopper type investigation is required - well it would be if it was Brentfords money, but since its Lindleys I would rather sport my bothered face :)

Roy King - Another Failure?

It is not just the Hot dogs friend of mine went into the club shop bought 6 programmes and they asked for £18 when it was pointed out that 6 * £2.50 =£15 oh yes

I bought an adult ticket and a junior ticket for New Road

Arrived to find both tickets had the same seat number on them!

Roy King - Another Failure?

Same thing with the guy next to me, he got two pairs of tickets with the same numbers on.

If we had contracts with every employee on the 'floor' that said say 10% of their pay was based on a montly 'mystery shop' they'd probably do much better. If the executive members on the board were accountable to people other than themselves it would work there as well.
