We are not the same team without Barbara.
We lose Sam from midfield which is crap and ask him to do a job that Ryan is better at.

I hope he is not going to be one of the players who spends more time injured then playing. I dont mind if it is a squad player but when it is one of our best players. He missed the start of last season too.

Ryan Dickson thread

his overall injury record hasn't been that bad. just need to hope it's not a constantly recurring thing. he's definately one we miss when he isn't there - partly because it means jiggling the rest of the team around too.

Ryan Dickson thread

Read something recently that his earlier problem was back related and he credited our physio with sorting it out

Ryan Dickson thread

...............last time I saw this was Germany v England in the final of the Womens championship just finished...............

Not as good as womens beach vollyball though. Have they sorted a venue for the Olympics. If not 100 tons of sand to Griffin Park please and I will reserve a front row ticket.

I thought a chorus of boos for one of our best players in recent years was uncalled for. You cannot deny, sad as it may be, that Southampton are a bigger club than Brentford, and in the presumed absence of Championship offers a good move for young Mr Dickson. Good luck to him, I say - got a round of applause from me.

Ryan Dickson thread

He got a clap from me. Dicko was a good player for this club. He has moved on and good luck to him. If the saints go up, bfc receive an extra wedge. Lets take it and move on as well, the more he plays the more we get.

He got a good reception from me and the missus. Couldn't understand the three blokes a few rows below us (in Bill Axbey) giving him unbelievable stick: "judas" "gone for the wedge" & much worse. Always gave his best for us and I wish him well in the future. You only have to witness the crap we've watched this season to know he made absolutely the right decision.

The back couple of rows of New Road E block houses a couple of very strange related inbreds, 6 digits and potty mouths who are very vocal but very thick and slag off Karleigh every game.

He got the show of hands from me and me two mates yesterday and i would have him back tomorow. In fact when Pardew got the sack he wanted to come back to GP.Shame that,we could do with someone like Ryan

Totally agree. I had some childish running argument on here last year with someone who's name now escapes me who could not accept that Dickson had gone to a bigger club because he could not see past the fact we were higher in the table then them at that time. I tried so hard to explain that the wages are higher, premiership ground and fan base, huge budget and even if they failed to go up last season they were going to go up the following year. The poor chap just could not see it and thought it was a step down as we were 3 places above them or something.

Ryan Dickson thread

Just so happens when he came on I used the stoppage in play to go for a slash but would have given him a polite applause to be fair. Very good player for us and went to a bigger club.

Ryan Dickson thread

Bigger club, more money, bigger support, by the sea, lovely ground, probably excellent training facilities, working with Alan Pardew and then nigel adkins or smaller club, less money, much much lower support, middle of an expensive city and Jersey road training ground and working with Andy Scott?? hmm what would all of us choose??? I love BFC, support them from birth and would never change that but from a football players point of view its a job aswell as a passion for them and anyone with any football knowledge can see southampton will def be a championship club in the very near future and i would go as far as possibly saying maybe a prem club within the next 5 years!!!! they have more chance of success than us and its just the way it is, i would love it to be different but is not going to happen in the near future.

And is just about to net us some more cash with Southampton 99% promoted.

What was the deal - 50k if they went up?

Ryan Dickson thread

Just scored his first goal of the season to put The Scummers 2 up at Plymouth.

...another payment on its way...

No chance, he was offered a lot more money and a longer contract than we could - I believe we were prepared to make him the the highest paid player at the club and we still couldn't compete.
To be honest Woodman has been an adequate replacement and can't see Ryan saving or winning us too many points on his own so if we decide to break the bank to keep a player I'd rather it was for a player we'd really miss.

Six weeks into the deal he was pleading to come back saying it was 'the worst decision I've ever made....'

Fair play to Dickson that playing and enjoying first team football was more important than the money - my point was it's a short career, he has had more than his fair share of injury problems and a bigger club came offering a much, much better deal and he took it - no problem for me, he never let us down and why I applauded him him when he came on Saturday.

what stopped him coming back in the end??

Ryan Dickson thread

Nice to see Sam Saunders congratulating him on Saturday's win on twitter....

Ryan Dickson thread

Sorry mate but i dont have twitter. Would you mind sharing what Sam said please?

Just how pleased he was for Ryan and Southampton and how much they deserve promotion .... it makes me f***ing sick to be quite honest, perhaps they can all have a collection and pay back us all the £22 that we parted with to watch that sh*te on Saturday...
