Have I missed something as I have not seen Ryan Dickson listed in any of the friendlies so far. Is he injured ? Has he left ? Can anyone enlighten me

What worries me is that you associate Ryan with being injury free and a 57 game a season man. Like you say let's hope it's not a bad one.

it's been mentioned in the 'Ipswich Town match' thread, he was injured, no worries about him leaving! just hope his 'injury' gets better soon.

It was indeed good to see him there. Left side tonight was average although to be fair they all seemed to be right footers. Missed some pace tonight as well which Ryan provides.

He was on the treatment table when I went into the dressing room on the last home game of last season.

So it's being worked. Oh good, a left midfielder than gets plenty of crosses in, knows his defensive duties, AND gets 15 goals.......he'll be off to Liverpool in January then :banghead:

Don't worry, he'll be so busy with his defensive duties and crossing an' all, he won't have time to score 15 goals....

hi i live in essex, and my brothers are massive orient fans. and theres a big rumour going round that dickson is on his way to orient once fit!!! can any one tell me if there is any news on this in west london. as i elieve this would be a massive loss for brentford!!!!!!!

Why on earth would we let him go?

We're trying to get out of this division, Orient are a smaller club punching above their weight. They can go **** themselves. :)

i no its not good for brentford but in the home games ive seen dickson looks very frustrated covering at left back and would be playing in a league above and be playing in his main position. you can see the temptation is there!!!

Is he struggling? A couple of good runs but I couldn't help notice he was shattered after both. Is he not able to train properly at the moment?

the interview in the programme brought to our attention that he suffered a severe back injury as a youth player and missed nearly 2 seasons of football, he said it was similar to Monty's injury but worse!, so maybe his current injury stems back to this period when at Plymouth and has returned again. He doesn;t look 100% fit either.

4th in the table without any significant impact from Smith or Dickson is a massive leap forward from what I expected. We haven't missed him so far but if he can get fit he'll make a massive impact. I also think Scott has been smart playing him on the wing while he recovers so he doesn't have the defensive duties.

He makes it clear in the interview that :

"The back problem I have had recently is nothing related to the old injury"

Hopefully so, as he hasn't played enough for us to cash in on him, and no point releasing him without a profit.

However, if Johnson is fit, I could see some point in sending Dickson out on loan for a month to get match fit (same applies to Montague) as his injury Tues wiped out the chance to give him a full 90 minutes without the pressure of a league game - I think he missed the whole pre-season so his last full first team game must have been April or May

No he doesn't need to go out on loan, he should go straight back into the team or take a chance on the bench. We need to have top class players on the bench so the starting eleven know if they produce a below par performance there's someone waiting to take their place.........it's what promotion chasing teams do !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think we need this lad's energy back in the side. The team looks flat at the moment and he looks the sort of player who can lift a game. No reflection on Wood who has done very well by the way.

Too right he needs to be back in the team, on the left wing though. At least he knows how to run at defences.
