sabotage

The notion of our campaign being sabootaged as part of a wider conspiracy has been suggested on various threads.

Could someone please explain why promotion would be such a disater to anyone?

Why would anyone wish to sabotage our promotion?

How would our failure to gain promotion this season aid any plan?

It would aid Ron's plan of making us all realise that things would be better if we'd all been a whole lot nicer to him!

I'd also imagine that QPR, Stoke, Reading and Bristol would love to sabotage our promotion...

According to a conspiracy theorist that I know, promotion would mean that we have to play at Griffin Park next season; playing at Griffin Park next season would mean that we couldn't sell Griffin Park; not being able to sell Griffin Park would mean that Altonwood's guarantee of the overdraft (by way of a large deposit placed at Barclays Bank) would have to remain; Altonwood's guarantee remaining would prevent our chairman retiring, severing all ties with the club and buggering off as if he's never been to Griffin Park.

I don't believe in conspircay theories, in case anyone wondered.

Sabotage? Hmm I prefer Sure Shot or Jimmy James.

hmmm very interesting stuff thankyou.

Edmundo, according to the conspiracy theory you have heard, why would us gaining promotion mean we would have to play at Griffin Park next season?

I assume because places like Woking would be even less acceptable in the First Division.
Or maybe it's to do with the fact that the increased gates might stop us losing money or that the extra number of fans need incorporating or something.
Ok, basically I don't know.

I agree that the conspiracy theory seems unlikely. Personally, I can see no real reason why Ron wouldn't want us to go up. However, his actions do seem to suggest that maybe he doesn't want us up... That's just a logical conclusion based on the facts of what is happening. Key players leaving, a key player injured and yet no replacement brought in, a thinning of the squad, and so and so forth.

My one solace is Roberto Forzoni who I feel is the one luxury this club seems to have kept, and as long as he's here, I feel that just maybe Ron does want us up after all. Perhaps he feels we can do it without Gibbo and Mahon.
Maybe, Ron has the greatest belief in the squad's ability out of all of us...
I doubt it somehow though.

I don't have a simple answer to this one, but at the EGM which approved the sale of Griffin Park to Brentford FC Ltd, I heard none other than Noades himself say that we'd have to play at Griffin Park if we won promotion.

Of course, this was in the context of the alternative being Woking. But have we had a better offer?
