safety is the most important thing. but hillsborough wasnt fully down to terracing it was down to poor control of the amount of people who can get in. Now for big games you cant get in without a ticket so it shouldnt be a problem in that respect

if there wasnt fencing at the front,it would never have happened

'Safe Standing'

that wont start up again..the Club put an end to it,split those that were in there up around the ground,id say enough of them dont come anymore

some have been put out to pasture, grazing in the paddock, but some of us are keeping it real. Build it and they will come.

haha.im half grazing in the Paddock and Ealing. It wont happen, the club at times seem to go out of their way in these situations, killing off great atmospheres, when hate corner went,it took a while but the Paddock livened up nearer Brook Road, thats gone now an all.Atleast we got the couldron of noise from Ealing Road people say exists:rolleyes:

if so,surely its down to the club not to roll over and to have said, well we dont want close the part of the ground with most of the vocal support, because you ****ed it up and were unable to control a few millwall fans in the away end which is completely segregated from the rest of the ground

'Safe Standing'

Been to Fulham, QPR and Arsenal to watch Man City this season and all the city fans stand for the whole game.

Somehow the idea of a sit-down 'Posnan' doesn't really work though, does it?

'Safe Standing'

Plenty of standing in the Ealing Road why do we need more??? Silly idea

'Safe Standing'

you forget the wendy house hullbee ?? bring back the royal oak siiiimmmmppplllleesss

'Safe Standing'

Have a word with yourself lol There is simply no way even the muggy moo-moos 'supporting' the top sides would pay £55 or more to be an away fan at The Bridge to watch their team from a terrace.

Sadly change won't happen as too many people mug off the supporters these days, notwithstanding we have a generation or more of kids who can't afford to watch live football.

Alrite then mate. But it's simple business. You just have to look at the prices of resale concert tickets to see what people are willing to pay these days. Even if they dropped the ticket price by a tenner the amount of extra tickets they could sell with standing would make more money.

The Brook Road standing area should not be closed due to lack of visibilty. Also its the only place I know were you get wet on a sunny day. Its like your recieving a golden shower from those sitting in the seats above:mad::thetruth::mad:

As I said, is to late now. Damage is done and the football family has made pricks like Terry & Rooney multi-millionaires.

'Safe Standing'

If standing is unsafe then all bus stops must be death traps.

Clearly the saftey of terraces is entirely about how many people are let on them. If the Emirates was filled two to a seat that wouldnt be particularly safe. Modern ticketing at most big grounds means it is far easier to control numbers on a terrace and done away with dodgy gatemen letting extras in or people blagging in.

Standing ok now at GP,not a problem anymore, should never have been a problem in first place. Ironic tho that after Hillsboro it was the Sheffield Wed game new policy was introduced.

Agreed, but the law needs to change and I can't see any government doing that.

its not ok to stand at GP ? more than once we have been told to sit down on the back row of the Paddock ! with a 4000 attendance.....But if our jobs worth stewards arent on hand,we have enough of our own fans willing to point you out,"grass" you up to a steward for the unacceptable criminal act that is standing up

Think you will find the club has changed its policy. The fans were allowed to stand in the Wendy House for Wed game, was good to see proper football enthusiasm allowed. Don't think you will have a problem standing next year.

a few like to stand for a fag, let alone stand to watch a game ???

thats the away fans, when such numbers are standing what is the Club going to do,and i doubt Wednesday have many fans that go out of their way to grass on their own to stewards for doing so.Was only a few games ago we had jobs worth stewards telling us to sit down on the back row of the paddock for getting a corner

Steward told me it was new policy.

Thirteen English league clubs support re-introducing standing at football grounds, according to a fans' group.

The SPL have been given the green light to have implemented safe satnding for a year now, but no one has bothered with it. Rough estimates of £80-100 per seat for a conversion may be the reason why, and could prove very costly to implement.

'Safe Standing'

We are having terracing at Susan I believe has been confirmed yes yes? And none of this "safe" crap, a proper massive swaying home end.

'Safe Standing'

The one possible plus is lower league clubs would not have to put in seats which would restrict their capacity.
I think it has been too long at the top level re seating rules to see any changes.
Plus, of course, seats are/should be dearer!

'Safe Standing'

All seater is the one thing I'm not looking forward to at Lionel road....occasionally I go into brook road upper and although the view is good the atmosphere is terrible.....

I'd be willing to stump up £80 to convert my seat into a standing place. Especially if the person sat behind me was a right shortarse.

'Safe Standing'

I hate sitting at football matches. The atmosphere is never as good and it just feels wrong. Given the opportunity I would keep standing till the old legs won't have it anymore. If we can we should definately have a standing area for home fans behind the goal.

'Safe Standing'

safe standing ,in areas properly designed for it are far safer than people standing in seating areas in stadiums , or standing in steps between seating blocks ,which is what happens through out the country

I don't even like having to sit when I'm at the cinema. I've had some right rows with people.

'Safe Standing'

some of reasons people have been coming up with on media programmes, against safe standing have been a joke

pure moeny grabbing,nothing else

'Safe Standing'

One of the parents of a Hillsborough victim is, against it, you'd think that after all these years of relentless campaigning she'd know terraces didn't cause that disaster
