Sam Allardyce

Whatever you may think of Allardyce it was reported on BBC news this morning that Blackburn sacked him because they were looking for someone younger and more energetic.
Alex Ferguson maybe,or Hodgson,Wenger,Ancelotti all young, thrusting managers or perhaps the youngster Del Bosque who has just won the World Cup with Spain

Slightly strange that the new acting manager has the same agent who brokered the deal and is apparently the same agent advising Venky's on player purchases:fishing:

Sam Allardyce

Perhaps someone could change the "Blackburn boss" bit in the title of this thread. Anyway:

His West Ham team who were criticised for hoofball this season are currently passing Cardiff to death and their fans are chanting Ole. Glad he has finally adopted the West Ham way.

Allardyce criticising the West Ham fans for booing the team when they won - not sure what to make of this but speaking to a couple of my West Ham during the course of the season - they really want Allardyce out and simply can't stand the football on offer. I personally don't like Allardyce but he has been successful in taking them up and keeping them in the Premiership.

Football is utter dross. Fans hate Sam. Sam hates us. Yes. He has probably kept us up. But its time for a change.

Sam Allardyce

There's something in the East London air making managers and fans fall out. Oh well.

Sam Allardyce

Once you start having a go at the fans you are on a slippery slope.

Sam Allardyce

Listening to the " experts" discuss it the view in football is that results are everything and it matters little what supporters might think. Listening to their fans the consensus is that Sam has assembled a squad that plays football in a Stone Age manner and they would appreciate an element if skill and passing

Would struggle to put West Ham and Barcelona in the same paragraph let alone sentence !!

Sam Allardyce

West ham fans have delusions of grandeur.......they have done for years

Absolutely.

Playing "East End Academy Football" is all very well, but how happy would they be if it were in the Championship, or even League One?

Fact is, WHU were in such deep financial doodoo when the Golds and Sullivan took over that at least three seasons of EPL were necessary if their debts were to become manageable, never mind cleared. I get the impression that the Owners didn't/don't much care for Allardyce, but their experience at Birmingham told them of the need to face financial reality.

Allardyce's job is to keep them safe in the Prem, nothing more, nothing less. So that when the Owners reckon the club is financially stable again (end of next season?), they'll likely pay him off handsomely and replace him with someone they prefer.

Of course, whether the fans are happy with his replacement is another thing, but I doubt the Owners will consider their views then, any more than they did when they appointed Allardyce.

Can sort of see both sides of the situation. Often good results 'masks' fans discontent with hoofball. Look no further than us in 91/92

If Sam wore a mask, it might appease some of the female Hammers
