does anyone know why sam tillen wasn't involved on saturday?

in last week's poll, many thought he would be selected ahead of frampton at left back or at least fill in on the left side of midfield.

in the event, he didn't even make the bench

is he injured?

Would imagine it was because we had two forwards on the bench, and Gayle could cover the left back spot, as well as other areas. I expect he will be at least on the bench for Chesterfield game.

I would start tillen ahead of frampton to be honest - his final ball was awful on saturday...a number of times he let the ball drift past him into touch too...basically because he didn't trust his own ability on the ball I think!!

I never disagreed with that even though some around me in New Road were suggesting he wasn't having a good game. As a defensive left back I think he does his job well...however in a game where he was getting so much opportunity to support the attack his final ball was very poor....he had quite alot of time on the ball on a couple of occassions....I would have thought that in such situations it would be nice to introduce a left back who can deliver some dangerous crosses into the box!

Frampton played OK Saturday, his distribution is not his strong point anyway.
Same could be said of Sam compared to Turner, but this is not the Premiership.

As for O'Connor, I much prefer him at RB to Dobbo.

However on Saturday , Cleveland Taylor out on their left, once he decided to stay on his feet, I thought gave Kev a bit of a hard time & was far & away the Scunts best player in the 1st half.

After Dobbo was skinned within a minute of the restart I feared the worst, but to be fair he played OK after that so I suppose MA got it right !

i am a lifeline member, BU member, season ticket holder and devoting my personal free time to assist the supporters gain control of the club - so i personally do have strong views about the club and the players.

The question asked is: which player would you most like to see leave GP. My honest and humble view is Kev - the reason he won most imporved player is the low starting point he came from. For me he is always off the pace, is not gifted positionally or dsitributionally and has failed as a striker, a right mid and a centre mid. Right back is where the Simon Ratcliffe's (never been to GP? HA!) world end up and are then described as "utility players". Anyone remember Ricky Otto end Ratcliffe's right back career?

Considering he was a midfielder normally it wasn't a problem.

Your sentiments re: Kevin O'Connor can be fixed by simply wearing some correct specs...

Kev is worthy of a place in the squad of 16 every time.

Just doesn't make sense to me. Last year we were one of the most stingy defenses in all of football, we scored nearly no goals. And the player picked out as not worth keeping is one of the starting backs. I must be missing something.

Kev had 2 indifferent games last year in front my eyes. Sadly they were the Play Offs but I rate the guy and think he became a really decent RB last year and without doubt the best one at the club if you forget Sodje's home debut.

apart from that awful throw-in what went straight into the crowd lol i thought framps had a good un, but i like him...

having not seen tillen play at all, i wouldn't offer an opinion. other people seem to have grand opinions on the lad based on friendly outings maybe MA, working with them day in and day out and all that sh*t, knows best....

I seem to disagree with your comments on here.

1. Do you feel pleased having to say who do you want to get rid of before the season?

2. O'Connor comments unfair.

3. Ratcliffe comments - yeah Otto finished him there. I also remember him as a central midfielder when we went up. Doing a darn sight better than others when we were up and coming back into the side when we came 2nd in 1994-5 and completly turning the side round - didn't he come back against Plymouth. Webb was desperate to get rid of him but had to keep him in the side. Lets be honest the side under Webb wasn't as good once he did go.

Downbeat, it is a fair question about getting rid of players. Every team has at least one player who the fans do not like/cannot understand why he plays/why manager picks every week. EVERY SINGLE TEAM HAS ONE (well maybe not Chelsea these days....). We used to have Kevin Godfrey remember??

Quite happy to give my views as to who I would ship out. You, however, are likely to be grateful that I am not the man in charge. But football would be dull without strong views, opinions and arguments.

O'Connor comments entirely fair as (i) they are mine and given by me as mine (ii) they are honestly held and (iii) are reasonably constructive compared to a number of fans comments such as 'X' is rubbish get rid (see all comments regarding Rankin prior to last night for example....).
