ı am sure wecould havesigned either or both Williams or Bowditch this summer and most fans would have been quite pleased.
I think that either would have ımproved the squad and given us more options but the fact that we havent is a really good sign and shows that we are trying to be even more ambitious ın who we are tring to bring in.
Watch this space as the clock is now beginning to tick!
I do hope you are right NLB. Agree with you totally about these two, plus Rhodes now looks like he is signing for Hudders. AS had better not let us down with who ever he is bringing in![]()

he's a better player than Kabba IMO, i was disappointed BFC didn't pick him up. He gives you a lot more than Kabba; in passion, Williams knows where the goal is, plus he's young enough to have moved up a level again, whereas Kabba is only going one way, and thats downwards. It's a bloody shame, i liked Williams.
When AS decided not to for Williams, I'm sure it wasn't because Steve Kabba was an alternative. At that time, I giess he thought a fit Strevens, Elder and Jordan Rhodes were better options. Sadly, circumstances meant that those plans didn't work out.
maybe so, but the only definate in AS's plans was Strevens, although Elder was a 'quickfire' sale as the offer was too good to turn down, but Kabba as a replacement/panic buy? and Rhodes was only a 50/50, then Hudders came in to trump the offer by tripling his money. plus Clarke opting to go Blackpool didn;t help matters! Still, i thought Williams was worth a 'punt'.
Williams is poor IMO, I didn't go today so for those of you who went might laugh at me, but I can't understand whats so good about him, I have that image of that shocking one on one miss he had in his debut, I also remember him being poor in the air, However, to give him some credit I remember him scoring a vital goal for us![]()
That's all hindsight though. When he had to make the decision to sign Williams, you can see the logic as to why he declined.
Williams did a job when he was here but let's not go overboard.

If I remember rightly, most were happy that Spencer was selected ahead of him on a few occasions.
Hmm, don't recall anyone clamouring for Williams in august. I love all this hindsight wiseness about the maradonna of somerset. Get a grip people.

He'll be a good championship player and would have been a better option than what we've got...

no doubt he'll be in capello's squad for the world cup also.![]()
Is he no longer a footballer with ability then?
Hope got us Kabba, we didn't want Clarke and Williams and that baffles me.I we were still hoping to sign Rhodes. This is not a missed opportunity unless you feel that he should have been signed ahead of Rhodes.
He's not a first choice at Yeovil either as far as I can make out.
I know you're always right in the end but we're not there yet. .
but he would have been behind Rhodes and Clarke in any wish-list of last season's loanees
Who is a damn site better than Sam Williams.
roflroflrofl... cort... no better than willock IMO .
Who is a damn site better than Sam Williams.
It's called a squad, which one are you today, Sneezy, Dopey or Grumpy?
When Cort (I Like) but wasn't performing became injured we had nobody to step forward. A kid like Williams would have filled the void and challenged him for a first team spot. Forget people telling you he couldn't play and was lazy, they are mad.
The choice really was between Williams and Strevens - Scott chose Strevens. Personally, I would've liked to have seen a good youngster given the chance but you can see why Scott wanted to get someone with more experience.
