Good interview, seems a really likeable guy. Just think that our attack is going to be amazing once it's fully bedded in and this guy is going to become a legend.

I think that interview will put a lot of minds at rest. Particularly interesting to hear of the Pontus connection. Very excited about our forward options!

Completely agree, comes across really well, very mature, humble (with the edge of confidence an elite sports person needs), competitive and like a few team player that’s bought in to what Brentford are about.

His English is exceptional aswell.

Saman Ghoddos

Apologies if this has been done before, but how is his name pronounced? Does it rhyme with boss, rose or slow? I expect the Gh is one of those sounds that English speakers never get right!
I didn’t get an answer in the other thread, so I’m asking again.

Saman Ghoddos

Sounds like a nice guy and seems to have a bit of swagger about him. I also think he'll be able to handle himself if needs be on the pitch as well. :bounce:

As with most Scandinavians he has a very good command of english.

So is the front three now BMG, GMB, or have we downgraded the BMW to an MGB? :fishing:

Poor Toney, forgotten already.... GMT now, who's this B fella?

Saman Ghoddos

Nice to hear in his interview he’s going to basically stick to the basics no need for flicks and tricks(my interpretation is that he’s matured) - don’t normally hear someone downplay what they will do when they join a new team.
A welcome commitment for those who thought there were times Said showboated a bit too much, glorious though it was to watch when it came off and led to something!

Saman Ghoddos

For me I haven't seem him really impress in a Bees shirt (apart from his introductory interview and some of the training vids).

@Silly Hat well to be honest with you as you've witnessed yourself in the game you attended in 2009, we're crazy about football, I personally cannot stop the massive amounts of people commenting on social media. and I must say many of those aren't really polite and many of them are really polite, it's like this everywhere in the world. I would say just enjoy the revenue that the new followers bring in and enjoy the moment.

i think it's quite funny, what got you to Iran in 2009 and attend a football match? crazy isn't it? 100K people attending league matches! i remember attending a WCQ and man the atmosphere made my body shake!

on another note, The Iranian national team has 2 friendlies coming up soon and I would say he will be invited for sure.

l’ve been quite lucky. Been to Iran a couple of times, and been all over the country (except Mashad, Azeri Regions/the Caspian Sea, or Khuzestan area). Loved it.

So impressive! don't want to make it political but i just wish we didn't have this evil regime so you could have an even much better experience.

Yes, we don’t do politics here  But I agree. Saying that, the politics didn’t interfere a bit during my visit (except maybe the Ayatollah clock I got given at Behesht-e Zahra:sneakoff: )

Really excited about this signing especially for us to go back for him after what happened last year.
His interview was great and liked how he made reference to how he is older now and plays more for the team. Music to my ears.
To replace Watkins and most probably Said with Toney and Ghoddos with Forss coming back and Canos from injury we potentially have a stronger front line than last year with options. Let’s see whether they can show it in the coming season.

Saman Ghoddos

Probably been shared before, but for excitements sake, take a look at his 2019.

Saman Ghoddos

Lovely interview. Seems like an A1 guy.

Yes a really nice interview and a very nice guy, he'll fit in well. Looking forward to seeing him play.

Saman Ghoddos

Looks good in the video clips for the plan B, breaking down defences in those tough 1 nil downers as a false 9, no. 10. Very articulate and positive in his interview. Hopefully will be a great acquisition as well as boosting shirt sales and support from Iran. We are building up our overseas recognition and support potentially important for our longer-term success.

Haven't seen a Bees player knuckle the ball like that since Pritchard.
This fella could make a serious difference to those sides that sit back behind the ball.

1. Smash it in from 30 yards.
2. Set plays. Win a free kick. Smash it in from 20-25 yards.

The only other player we've got that leathers it from a bit of distance is Josh. I reckon Bryan might if encouraged. We haven't had a decent free kick specialist since Saunders.

(y) (Marcondes?)

Saman Ghoddos

I can't think of many direct free kicks we've scored recently... Marcondes is great at whipping a ball into the box, but he and Benrahma had a habit of taking the free kicks when it should have been the other one doing it. Marcondes is better with situations further out so the ball can dip.

I agree though about long range attempts being helpful against teams who sit back. If you have multiple players who can hit them in from distance you have to close them down more, which means there will be more space to pass through...

Hi everyone, I'm an Iranian-American living in the US. Saw one of our special players is on his way over. Good luck. He really is a special one. Dumb stuff w his fine/ban but he has always been a tireless worker and meshes well with the teams he has played for. Looking forward to following Brentford!

If it’s like the last few years you well enjoy the ride

Probably still waiting for international clearance! :)

Saman Ghoddos

Depends on his fitness. I imagine he may get 30 mins against Fulham

whilst he hasn’t played for a few weeks he has done pre-season and played a few games in Ligue 2 so it’s not like he’s totally unfit
