Yes Boss
Saturday
Sadly or not so sadly I am going to miss Saturdays game due to a jolly boys outing to Kos for a week. Now as my name implies I live in Northampton and go to Bees games with 3-5 people depending on various work commitments etc. I am the only one born anywhere near Brentford and one is my son who does what he is told so Brentford for him. The others are all Northampton people who have really got the Bees bug and loving watching them. A bit of gentle persuasion and threats have fuelled this love. One of them is an18 year old student who has got a Saturday and Tuesday night job to earn a bit of drinking money but is on the list for Sundays in the future as he hates missing the football.
What I am trying to say is that Saturday is massive, we have a problem paying players, we are currently 3rd in the league and Swindon fans probably won’t turn out in their usual numbers. We need people there, if you take your son tell him to bring a mate from school, bring his cousin do anything.
Normally in crisis other teams attendances go up, perhaps the sounds coming from BFC don’t appear that scary but surely it is time to encourage more people through the gates.
What I am getting at here is that my lad had 5 or 6 mates at school who want to come to see Brentford with us, just for the fun of going to watch a game. These are kids from 70 miles away, maybe local lads have more choice, but FFS if kids from 70 miles away want to watch football in the flesh what about the London lads. The Isleworth blokes I met up with before the Rotherham game in the Woodlands pub meven managed to pull a mate who supports Chelsea to come along at the very last minute.
I doubt that we will hit 6,000 on Saturday as we are already minus 4 from Northampton.
