there's enough discussions on each player in their own threads. Nobody is a 'scapegoat', especially those you've put a poll up to.

Elder is a great prospect, Bean is a player we need and if Smith was fit IMO the midfield would be a strong one, Halls is class and out of position and Newton needs to show why we signed him. If anybody is a 'scapegoat' it's Brooker............................

Simple answer the question that is being asked on this thread is

certain players that are brought in by the manager take along time to gel and in that time they dont cut the grade ,are played because we dont have a big enought squad , are homesick or in Marcus Beans case he is a ex scummer and wont be liked from day one

It is a pointless poll. Halls was poor on Tuesday, but that doesn't mean it is his fault we lost, just that he was a contributing factor. Not every Brentford player who gets criticised for one bad game has to be referred to as a 'scapegoat'.

Bean has had his off days and given that he has started nearly every game and the midfield has been out let down this season, attention will focus on his performances, not because of who he used to play for!

Elder can look cumbersome at times and perhaps doesn't get into the positions he should, but again, that doesn't make him a 'scapegoat' when we lose.

As captain, I feel Newton is sorely lacking in leadership qualities and has hardly led from the front this season thus far with some moderate performances. No need for a poll on it and it is just typical Brentford fans overreacting to a bit of criticism.
