Scott Barron

I thought that a man losing his career was far more important than all the Forshaw transfer speculation so my latest blog pays tribute to Scott Barron. Hope you enjoy it.

The End Of The Day - Remembering a good pro.http://wp.me/p4Ksl8-eq Scott Barron forced to retire through injury

Enjoy reading your blogs keep up the good work.

Former Red, Barron, shot down but what a true gent.

Scott Barron

Thanks for the excellent write-up on your blog, I didn't know much about him before, sounds like a guy with the right attributes and I hope he does well in his career/ life moving forward.

Glad you enjoyed it. Scott liked it too! If you have time perhaps you could leave a comment under the blog itself. Cheers.

Scott's a top lad. Spoke to him after Preston and he was a gent... seemed only too happy to have a chinwag with the fans. I thought it a great touch. Best of luck with your new ventures, Scotty.

Interview on the OS with Scott, hope things work out for him :sorted:

Scott Barron

Great shame, genuinely nice bloke who had a torrid time with us but despite that always had time to chat to fans. A real credit to the game. Good luck

Nice piece on socc Saturday. Scott now running some type of performance coaching agency. Discussed the power of confidence in players and how Mark Warburton built it last season.

Might be getting a phone call soon then.

Seems to have helped broker the deal that took Dean and Colin to Birmingham, according to his Instagram feed. Cheers then.....

I take it that Marky and the boys won't be inviting him back to iFollow comentary.

He wrote on the Harlee Dean photo saying 'Team effort as always' and tagged Richard Lee in it...

I'm not sure he should be seen as predatory. It was fairly obvious that some players would be moved on if they weren't willing to commit to a new contract and he would have helped with that process.

Indeed. Generally speaking, I'm not a fan of the players' agent thing, but I think Scott's one of the good guys.

Scott Barron

Which is more than can be said with regard to his previous job, impersonating a full back.

A bit harsh given his incapacitating injury but I do remember him playing at Walsall where we were 2 down after totally dominating and he was replaced by the newly signed Bidwell who's first touch was to put the right winger on the gravel track surrounding the pitch - that was the end of Scott.

NLB you're a lovely man but Scott was absolutely useless for us and a dreadful signing. He came across as a very likeable lad who the other players loved but he showed nothing in his short time here to suggest he was a decent signing.

He was a Rosler panic buy when it looked like Bidwell wasn't coming back.

He wasn't great.... OK. He was rubbish.

Be honest, he wasn't that good..?He looked an elegant and skillful left footer until he got the ball, I've always been told that he's a smashing lad.

Scott Barron

Genuinely can't recall a single minute of him for us. Good though that he has managed a career for himself after retiring early.

I remember a big beard and a smart suit. Nice chap. Always polite. :looks:

He was among the first hipsters in football with a Mumford style beard and a Blackbeard style left peg.

Scott Barron

He had a couple of good performances as a left winger once he didn't get a look in at LB. Swindon away when Di Canio was manager comes to mind.
