Apparently the kick off for the Chelsea game was delayed becuase of the traffic problems allegedly on the door step of GP. The following two quotes are from the Big Match forum. Surtely we should have delayed our kick off, at least until the travelling Bradford fans who were on the coaches arrived

I'd like to post a comment on the match but thanks to the f*cking police blocking off the M4 because of an accident in KENSINGTON !?! I had to sit in a traffic jam for 5 hours instead of watching the game. We arrived at Brentford at 6pm. I was feeling rather angry until I met some Bradford (& Bolton) fans at the service station who had been on their coaches for 9 hours and never made the game, and obviously had another 4.5 hours journey home.

Afraid it's the only good thing (!!!???) I've heard today - we were stuck on the M4 as well - but at least we got level with the floodlights just as Tom Watt announced the final whistle!

But then the Beeb told us the M25 was shut both ways (it wasn't) so we had to use the Chertsey Road on the way home - and hit Twickers traffic.

Tell me it happens to ManUre supporters as well.

I also noticed on the other thread people complaining about the attendance looking a lot lower than the 5,900 announced. I wonder how many people who bought tickets or hold season tickets didn't reach the game?

And why are Brentford, Chelsea and the RFU all playing locally on the same day? Great planning... Paris for Olympics 2012 - our infrastructure would never cope with such an event.

I was in the North End Road when this accident happened before 10am. The entire area was gridlocked for hours. To add to the fun the District line wasn't operating east of Earls Court and West Kensington station was closed due to a stabbing incident. Pretty easy on a bike though.

Rumour had it that the accident was at junction 2 of the M4

Yeah a coach overturned on the M4 between Chiswick and Hammersmith I thought.

the Police were busy saturday then, surprised there weren't more thefts, burglaries, muggings and murders........ all the Police must have been tied up controlling those football and rugby hoolies...
