Setanta's Coverage

Am I right in thinking they didn't show the subs? When the team came up at the bottom of the screen they certainly didn't show it...and at half time when they put the teams up again just before the second 45 they only displayed the team on the pitch.

Not impressed with the touchline interview of their manager for about 60 secs when the game is still going on and we had to see his face. This is really bad IMHO.

Overall I though their coverage was pretty poor - oh yes, the Scottish guy interiewing the manager at the start had us as a League 1 team too:rolleyes:

The Policeman taking the sweet from the changing room.....well you wouldn't get Sky doing that halfway through a game - found it a bit daft.:(

Perhaps they thought from our perspective that those little cameos were more entertaining than what was going on on the pitch

I think Setanta have 2 tiers in their football coverage from what I have seen.

They have the Premiership coverage which they try to match Sky on .. very professional and lots of statistics , and then they have the Blue Square coverage which is a bit more down to earth, thus interviewing the manager during the match, cctv in the dressing rooms.

I noticed too that the subs were not listed and when interviewing the manager the game could not be seen !

There was a lot of bias towards Barrow, but I guess that was to be expected as Setanta seemed keen to support the underdogs which was seen in the opening titles.

My first time seeing Setanta and I thought it was awful coverage.

No subs listed, 'Craig' MacDonald playing for us, in-match interviews with play still proceeding and the total bias towards Barrow.

It was summed up by their commentator stating that Barrow were dominating play - only for a caption to pop up showing it was 50% to each side. Indeed the post match statistics showed 59/41 in the Bees favour.

Last night did nothing to persuade me to pay a Setanta subscription.

As planned I watched this at The Red Lion in Greenford. No volume (turned right down) and I can assure you that the sounds made by modern beat combos and churned out by a DJ at full blast made it no easier to bear. :banghead::cry:

Look its cheap and cheerfull but without it last night how many bees would have seen the game ????????? ps they got the england games aswell because the beat sky with a better quote. If we have to put up with second rate ideas about interviews during the game its got to be 100% better than listening to david kerbcrawling pleat on a radio ?

Bad coverage. Even ITV was better.

But bring back BBC and Sky soon!

Interviewing managers whilst the game is patronising to the team, yes there's money involved but you don't see Arsene Wenger and Fergie speaking to Sky Sports during a game FFS! Wouldn't expect the media to be speaking to Scott every 15 minutes if we played a premiership team in the FA Cup.

How bad did the game look on TV?
I was cringing at the thought of people I know watching that, can't wait for work next week.

Don't worry NB, probably not many of them, if they have any sense, subscribe to that amateur sh*te channel. Fortunately where I work nobody has mentioned anything to me today - thank goodness it wasn't on Sky.

Unfortunately I was drumming it up and convinced lots of people to watch plus getting the landlord at the local where we all drink after work to put it on instead of the Rugby, so they could see our demolition job.

I fear for Monday.

Stop moaning, maybe next time youll go to the game!

Just when I was starting to like plucky little Barrow as well. Bit sad. You should be celebrating, not winding up Brentford fans. And don't make me laugh, people from Barrow don't have jobs! lol Good luck in the draw tomorrow anyway.

If you could have forced us to a replay, i would of been there.

Yes because that would have been your cup final. Barrow away to us is hardly an exciting fixture.

Good luck in the third round tho as your team deserved it and we didn't.

(

ITV were doing the same with the Histon chairman today and if I remeber rightly they were interviewing the H&W manager when Nathan scored at their place. Not good.

Setanta's Coverage

the coverage of Leeds and Histon was awful today.
Couldnt see the game for rain on the camera.
Surely they could have sorted that out

It seems that Setanta have an agreement with the Conference etc clubs to go into the dressing rooms and interview the players and managers on the touchline.

When they show the Conference matches that do all of the above.

Regards the Premiership dont they buy the feed from Sky and just have a different commentator.

Setanta's Coverage

i found the touchline interviews absolutely infuriating as I am paying to watch a cup tie.

This is not new though, we missed our last goal in the last game because we were watching a replay. i also think the bbc are diabolical at showing a close up of a manager chewing gum for prolonged periods of the game when you want to see the match. it is mainly england games when they seem to think we want to see a close up of sven or maclaren for 30 seconds rather than the game. Really fks me off actually.

I didn't mind the in-game interviews, but they should have been audio only, with the cameras remaining on the match itself.

In hindsight perhaps they would have been better showing touchline interviews for the full 90 mins instead of showing the embarassing performance of the Bees.!!
