Shirt Colours

hello,

i'm an italian football fan and i'm interested at the origin of football teams

could you tell me about the origin of the Brentford FC shirt?
why the club adopted red and white colours?

thanks.

I think our away kit should be the multicoloured hoops of 1889 see http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Brentford/Brentford.htm

That should've been the kit we wore in our centenary year instead of that terrible pin-stripe affair that looked pink on t.v.

Imaging how many sales that could've made.

Seems from the latest newsfeed that the supporters are choosing next seasons kits, hopefully there will be no moaning from the GPG users this time....

I suspect that is one of the reasons why they've done it. :D

:nono: This season's shirts have both sold really well, better than previous years according to Alison !

It's part of the beauty of a supporters owned club and I think it's good PR and interaction between club and suppoorters.

Davee and splatts moans had sweet f all to do with the decision, please rest assured on that

Let's hope the voting is not hijacked by supporters of another club who choose the worst option of the four.

This has, of course, happened before on similar votes on other sites.

I can imagine the Office every morning now: Quick check of the GPG to see what Davee's latest gripe is before the all important policy meeting.

Today, Lewis Ferrell becomes Brentford's 46th Manager of the season following yet another mis-placed pass in training.

Lord GPG of GPG Towers can and will control this as you have to be a registered member on Gen Bees Disc. where I think the vote will take place

The shocking pink/lime green hoops shirt shouldn't therefore win ! :sorted:

And following a suggestion from Slatts, those wishing to watch from the Ealing Road terrace this Saturday will each receive £5 as a thank you for avoiding over use of the stadium seating.

Is it the clubs intention to change the kit design every year, for both home & away.

Shirt Colours

I suspect the club don't have a say in the issue ;)

This has probably been done to death on another thread somewhere.... Looking back on that historic link, we've changed the home kit every year since 2002.
OK sponsors come & go, but it would be fair if there was some continuity for a couple of seasons. Are Brentford is such a contractual position with shirt manufactures that we need to pander to their every whim.

Our current contract with PUMA stipulates that we have to unfortunately. We do appreciate that this is not ideal, we were able to use the light blue kit from 08-09 as a third kit this season and Away Match previews (sponsored by Mercedes Benz) on the official site have been updated to notify fans which away kit we'd be wearing.

Shirt Colours

Well done to the club for sorting something like this out:sorted:

Is next season the final year of Puma's deal with us?

Can we get adidas on board again when the puma deal runs out, I've always been an adidas boy from the days when I was young and poor and couldn't afford it.
It's not much to ask.;)

the piccy's from PUMA are winging their way to GPG Towers as I type ! :sorted:

cant understand why we'd agree to ripping our fans off

a. previous CEO signed it

b. Brentford came first in the Football League Supporters Survey last year for value/competitiveness of price of replica kit - no-one else sold theirs for less than we did

I thought the Puma deal was done for the 2008 / 2009 season?

Shirt Colours

Obviously the 2nd one from the left for the away one. Pool closed.

Next.

 There's only two per row.

Not in my view, I have a row of 4.

Option two then.

Remember I pointed out that we should sign David Nugent from Bury when he was 18 and that Brooker was gash after about 4 games.
Don't waste valuable time thinking about this one kids.

Shirt Colours

My view is now a row of one and a row of three.
It's like the ball and the egg cups, you won't confuse me mods, I'm sticking with option 2.

i really hope brentford don't get a crap kit supplier when our deal with PUMA expires...

nike, adidas and puma & umbro are the only decent brands of football kit

the thought of brentford running around in a errea or caterbury kit makes me wanna heave...

Who cares who supplies it as long as the players wearing it do the business.
