Darlo fan here, any chance we can keep Browny for a bit longer? :)

Simon Brown

I don't think our manager will refuse. I take it from your message he's doing well up there, good luck to him. :)

Simon Brown

When he first joined, he looked a little bit dodgy, but to be fair to him he has improved a lot as the season has gone on. We've certainly missed him in the few games we haven't had him between the sticks. I'd certainly be happy for his stay to be extended.

Simon Brown

Had us all on tenterhooks whenever he ball came near him in the air last season. In his defence, he didn't have much of one in front of him and I'm sure he's far less exposed now.

Simon Brown

Of course you can stay Simon. House prices good up there?

Simon Brown

Yes please take him, we have a far better keeper down here.

Simon Brown

How much do Darlington want to pay for our highly improved goalie.Any offer over £100,000 will be seriously considered!!!!!!!!!!!

Simon Brown

For the moment. If Reading sell Hamer in January, we'll have Brown back thanks.

Hamer will be here for the season, unless he gets a long term injury.

Reading won't sell him, and I don't think they can recall him as its a season long loan.

Pretty sure your wish will be granted....

Quite pleased it has worked out for him up there as he seems a decent enough bloke and potentialy an OK keeper but he got the crowd on his back here and you could see his confidence slipping away rapidly...being a key Butcher signing with a big ( for us) salary was not good either, sort got some of the blame for a dreadful reign.

Simon Brown, may not be a world beater- but we would have gone up ,if he'd been in goal under Allen, instead of that twit Nelson. Delia Smith has told Glenn Roader to put her as the sub keeper instead of Nelson . Roader will get the sack very soon i hear !! stay of execution after Sunday or he would be gone now....

I just cannot see any way that he will see out his contract at GP.

Ideally darlo will keep him for the rest of the season, if not I would suggest that AS will be determined to find Simon a new home from January onwards in order to keep the wage bill down.

I suspect that we will need to make as many savings as possible if we are going to be in a position to keep players like Bennett for the rest of the season

 That's utter nonsense imo. If you've seen something in Brown to suggest he was anywhere near the keeper Nelson was then you've been watching different games to me.

Can't change your opinion. So manty goals were down to Nelson errors, positioning, handling. Ask Turner, Sodje what they think of him.

Don't think Nelson has made a first team apperance yet...

Made some good saves as well though. Only last few months of Allen's last season when everything went tits up anyway did he really feel the pressure. Seemed to remember him getting alot of praise from GPG/Brook Road before that

Nelson thought he was Billy Big B**locks rather than concentrating on his game & it often cost us.
Remember his abysmal kicking & the way he would hesitate to come for a ball & leave the striker with a simple finish? :nono:

I hated his compulsion to get involved with away fans and wind them up - I found him as annoying as that bloody Luton mascot Harry the f-g Hatter.
