Thanks Simon for what you gave for the Bee's, would be more than happy if he was on our books, but understand why he needs to go under the current circumstances. Needs to work on his temper, but he has talent, skill and desire. Doesnt always come off for him, but a talented youngster who's not afraid to have ago.

Rod, I thought you'd thrown in the towel. Nice to know you still care!;) :sorted:

Ouch! That hurt.

Just 'cause I did not go to Carlisle!

I have cared since my first Bees match in 1953 and this current position is the worst that I can remember. I blame the nerds who appointed Rosenior for the state of my club and they have a lot to answer for.

Yes. I do still care!

Simon Cox

Good luck Simon and thanks for your effort.

Some of our more permenant and experienced squad could learn a little bit about effort from you.

We currently have two players on 1 months loan, how many more are we allowed?

Simon Cox

JBN, threads elsewhere suggest 5 in total BUT Abbey is stiil counted as a loanee so only 2 others currently available

IMO Simon Cox has reached a natural point where in our current position it is in both ours and his interests to not extend his loan further.

What i will say though is that he put a lot of the permanent squad players to shame with his attitude while he was here and was one of the few that kept the supporters hopeful as a result of this.

It's a shame that his last 10 minutes in red and white was possibly his worst but fair play and good luck to him for all he did

Simon Cox

I shouted to him before the game and asked him if he was staying. A shaking head and a miserable face came back.

Simon Cox

Good luck Simon. I hope to see you play for us again next season. What some peeps on here have to remember, this is a young guy coming on loan to a piss poor team. Simon I applaud you, you put most of our poor excuses of footballers to shame with your attitude. Very well done to you Sir.

Simon Cox

A far better player than most of the ***** currently wearing the colours.

Agree with that, he needs settling into senior football in a side that is not in such a desperate state, it would not do him any good to stay her for the rest of this season.

Simon Cox

Thanks simon for your spirit, flair, skill, you wore the red and white shirt with pride. hope to see you in that shirt again:wave:

Simon Cox

:imwith:

Why doesn't Fitz recognise this then?

Wrong man (Fitzgerald that is)

Where would you play him then

He doesn't score enough goals to play up front and is not the answer in central midfield IMHO.

He's not better than Leary, or Keith.

Or are you suggesting we use one of our five loan signings for a substitute

:imwith: couldn't agree with this more. He's a good player but more than that he wanted it while he was here, and put many others to shame in that department.

Cheers Coxy. If we manage to fight our way out of this you'll have done your bit.

Simon Cox

I'd like to see him stay, he has passion, looks keen, appears to have a good touch on him.

However the end product isn't there at the moment, he needs a bit more experience. If he was our player this would be great and we could try and get this out of him through more games.

However right now we need experience and players who are a bit more polished.

Would be delighted if we could sign Simon in the summer but very much doubt it.

Sorry Rod. I think I may have mixed you up with roddy. I seem to recall his 'obituary' on here a month or two back when he said he was giving it all up. Sorry, no offence intended.

Simon Cox

Great competitive attitude, even if the red mist sometimes descended and he lost his way. Also some signs of skill and potential.

Problem was where he fitted into the team. If we had a great target man he could play off him (but that's Kuffour's best role), but he didn't dominate as a central midfielder and was lost when wide left.

Good luck to him wherever he ends up (except playing against us, of course), but I can understand Fitz's decision - after he played him wide left, then left him on the bench, it wasn't a great surprise

Simon Cox

And our strikers do?

Cox, no goals in about a dozen games.

Even Moore and Willock, who I don't rate, have a better record than that and Kuffour has nine goals.

Unless you are suggesting playing Kuffour and Cox together I don't see your point

Simon Cox

Just the point that no one is realy scoring for us at the moment, whether they be a 'goal scorer' or not.

Simon Cox

If we can get him permanently in the summer he'd be a good acquisition as we could have time to develop him and find his best position. Not quite right for our present circumstance though

You're very reasonable about your prospects Simon.

Simon Cox

Agreed

Heart, desire, passion, commitment and pride in abundance but that only gets you so far, lacks quality I think this is about his level, saying that I'd sign him now If reading offered him for nothing, worthy of a contract with the bees.

Simon Cox

Came on for Reading v Brum on Saturday in FA Cup, got about 15 mins and played 2 lovely balls from what i saw :sorted:

Simon Cox

I never wanted him to go either.

If we were getting him on the cheap then IMO he was a welcome addition.

Simon Cox

I thought the fact they gave him a run out may suggest they have other ideas and may keep him?

He certainly did himself no harm from what i saw :sorted:

So one would assume we're expecting a couple of loans to arrive next week then? Perhaps the much heralded freebies from the Premiership??? :D

So the window's closed. Where are they ?

Simon Cox

Is it not time to bring this gentleman back?

Cover for Ide, Keith, Jo and others and would be worth a start every now and then.

I agree unless he (or Reading) insist on him being an automatic pick.

Simon Cox

He was there on Mon night. But then again, so was Matty Hirons, so maybe it was just a bit of nostalgia! Would love to see him back, though.

Jo out for 3 games, sick players, Loydd out long term, Tillen playing like a park footballer, so what the fck has happened to our Premiership freebies ?

Simon Cox

I dont think we have got much hope of getting Cox's back

Simon Cox

I see Northampton have signed him on loan today.
