Simon Ratcliffe

Why was he called mad cow?! He's in my all time top 10 so come on geeks and inform me!!

Simon Ratcliffe

Never heard him called that!

A really nice bloke who W£bb transferred because Simon was a lot cleverer than him and read the Daily Telegraph not The Sun!

Who remembers that tackle at Oxford? That was no spot fixing sending off, that was a mans tackle. Remember that was the day the grand national was cancelled wasn't it? Strange how you remember little things like that.

Very underrated player. Webb was itching to get rid of him. Had to keep him in the team because we kept winning.

He hit every tackle like it was his last- rarely fouled just hard as nails.

Not sure I agree rarely fouled. In fact I completely disagree. Next you'll be saying all of Denny Mundee's penalties were given correctly.

He wasn't a dirty player, he was a very hard tackler who always went ball and some fouls given against him were
just wrong.

Apart from all those tackles where he went for legs - with studs, of course.

Would happily buy him a beer at GP. Wonder what he's up to?

Didn't he join the Prison Service?

Simon Ratcliffe

One of my all time favs as well. That tackle at Oxford was mental.

Simon Ratcliffe

he had a lovely girlfriend...:sorted: love the bloke..

Our first £100,000 signing apparently. Don't know how much that equates to in today's money, but worth every penny. Really important and often underrated player. How W£bb let him go for nothing is beyond me.

Simon returned to Norfolk in 2000, joining the prison service and working at Norwich Prison...

Wages? Possibly we couldn't afford Championship wages in Lge 1

Been appointed manager of Gillingham ladies side. Joins Paul Mortimer, Jay Lovett and dear old Murray Jones as ex Bees to get involved with womens football.

That's how rumours get started!
lol Yes. I know what you mean. "I saw Adam Forshaw at a fancy dress party and he had an interesting wig on. The stickers has come undone though and it looked somewhat unsettled." That sort of thing? :suspect:

not much of an interview on the pitch today compared to Millen, glad to see him back..

The Millen one must have gone down well with the Brighton fans.

Simon Ratcliffe

I don't think so...but he played a blinder that day !

Yes I think it was his debut. Played very well. One hell of a shot from distance in the first half that the Blackburn keeper saved

Was a decent pro who could play in many positions. For some strange reason I can't remember that tackle against Oxford. In fact I can't remember any stand out performances but always rated him.

Has aged a bit.

TBF I expect you have too since when he played?

Simon Ratcliffe

Remember him scoring the third at home to Swansea when we were two down at HT if I remember rightly....the interviewer didn't spend as long asking him questions as Millen...works in a school now he said.

Simon Ratcliffe

Didn't he play Lancashire League cricket? He played in the match at GP at the end of 91-92 season against the Bunburys who had Bill Wyman opening the batting.

Simon Ratcliffe

Ooh Aah, Simon Ratcliffe.
