Simon Wormull

Simon Wormull has signed for Eastbourne to give them experience in the higher league.

He's quoted as 31 years old - geez it seems like a lifetime ago since W£bb signed him and I watched his woeful debut at the Den.

Some players are so bad you never forget them!

And Mr Wormull has now signed a two-year deal with Farnborough!

Hopefully it's ok to use this thread.

Simon has been put in temporary charge of Lewes following Steve King's suspension.

Simon Wormull has been confirmed as permanent manager of Isthmian League Club, Lewes. He was caretaker manager at the end of last season.

He played half a dozen games for the Bees in 1997 after signing from Spuds. He is still only 35.

Simon Wormull

Now manager of Crawley Down Gatwick.

Resigned today.

Simon Wormull said, It was a really tough decision and was not for football related reasons. There are things in my personal life i need to address.

First thing I do every time I start a new game of Premier Manager 98 is let him go on a free transfer. Three Bridges are welcome to him .

Simon Wormull

Now manager of Burgess Hill Town who were relegated from the Bostik League Premier Division on Saturday.

Simon Wormull

They should go straight back up if he sticks to it. :grey:

Was that the same game that Peter Beadle made is twelve minute cameo debut for us.

The Millwall away opening day game!? My god, that day, it’s hard to imagine where we are now after remembering that

it was truly awful, what a shambles...

No, that was at Tranmere in August 2003.

yikes, feels like yesterday in some respects, another shambolic start to a season, all the excitement of a new season looming undone so quickly!

Remember that Millwall thought they were World beaters when they beat us on the opening day, not realising how sh*t we were.

I think he was one of Wally Downes dreadful decisions. When he played in a pre-season game and waddled off red faced on half an hour I thought that is the last we will see of him, when I read he had signed for us I knew we were in big trouble.

Simon Wormull

I think we had just sold all our better players after another PO defeat and we signed this bloke from Spurs, I watched a pre season away to I think Hayes and they battered us and I remember thinking (like above) we are in big trouble again. He was dreadful.

Simon Wormull

He was a favourite player of my older son, who was 10-11 at the time. I think he only liked him because he could call him "wormy", though!

I think we signed 3 MF: Wormull, Simon Spencer and IIRC Paul(?) Barrowcliff. I don't think they made a dozen starts between them. Wormull did OK at conference level for a fairly long career, but that was his level, so not for us

Good memory. What an assemblage of talent was brought in during that season!
